The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

Oddly enough, I figured out that I do need a new camera. Unfortunately my "shooting-style" doesn't fit well with a 400 dollar camera.....the G9 itself was way more sophisticated than I was capable of dealing with. I'm leaning toward something more on the shockproof side......knowing the last...

2000 Tundra: Donaho coilover w/ blown seals

They were good and quick about rebuilding my Donahoes last year. Of course the shipping from Virginia sucked too, and I had to run my 100,000 miles OE coilovers during the process. Nice folks to deal with.

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

Today we started putting some things together. A few days ago we purchased some styrofoam insulation from our local big box store. . We sized the panels for as tight a fit as possible. . And cut them out with a breadknife. . We fit all the panels in place, . ....and then we had (um, I had) a...

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

With a few days off from the mundane work, we found ourselves with some time to kill.....so we decided to kill some plywood.....the fun work! We laid out our 5'x10'x3/4" plywood for the walls, and marked them using our template. The marking wasn't absolutely necessary but it did provide a...

Exploring the West - A couple's 2 week travels through CO, UT, and AZ

You don't need words for an inspirational ending....that plate of ribs is inspiring enough! The trip looks amazing! Makes me really wish our "someday" trip was here already!

1st gen Tundra or new Tacoma for FWC?

I think what most people fail to realize is just how close in size the 2005+ Tacoma and the 2000-2006 Access Cab Tundra are to each other. The difference is: ……………........Tundra………………………………........Tacoma Wheelbase:…Access Cab:..128.3 in………………. Access Cab: ………....…...127.8 in...

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

Bob and Caswell have the right of it. We studied the T&TTT forum religiously for the past year on building these trailers and the whys and wherefores. The basic teardrop rule of thumb, as stated by building guru "Angib" on T&TTT reads: He does have a very scientific method of finding where...

    Trailer tracks..

They'd be really cool if you could get the "rims" to match your trucks look.....

    Rear diff breather question

I used gasoline filters from a lawnmower for mine (the tubing size was right and the filters were easy to obtain). The rear diff breather runs up behind one of the tailights.

    Haggis' Multi-Use Tundra Build

Now that sounds like a good option! With the same or similar mounting on the both the trailer and the truck it would be almost breezy to switch it over. Store it on the trailer and it will always be ready for those weeklong basecamping trips.

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

Don't know yet. This is just our 1/2 inch ply template for routing out the 3/4 inch ply we'll be using for the wall. I do plan to weigh the wall before and after so, I'll let you know.....

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

Well, it seems we were actually able to get a bit done this weekend! :ylsmoke: We finally did the layout on our 5x10 template for the windows, doors, dadoes, and spaces for the insulation. Fun weekend, but these short winter-time days aren't nearly long enough for working in the driveway! I...

Tundra - Moderate Spring Lift? Suggestions please!

I did not cut the pinch weld on mine. I nipped into the corner of it at the bottom which made it relatively easy to fold over and out of the way with a BFH. Be sure to spray your modifications with some undercoating of some kind....

Tundra - Moderate Spring Lift? Suggestions please!

The easiest thing to do for the front would be to get on the classifieds of Tundrasolutions and buy some lightly used stock coilovers. The Sequoia should be the same coilover as the Tundra. Put those springs on a set of the Bilstein 5100 adjustables and you're done. You shouldn't even have to...
