If you get a new axle with the same tube diameter you can use most of the original hardware. I would suggest new U bolts as they tend to be damaged or stretched when used.

I like the looks I just hope they figured out the Galvanic reaction problems they had in the 80's Steel on aluminum don't mix. The Granada, LTD and Grand Marquis all had aluminum bumpers that over time reacted with the steel mounts.

Those will look better than the Dodge van wheels you have on now. How are the salvage yards in Florida?

Looking great! I can't tell you how many times I have measured a project three, four times and in the end somehow my tape measure has stretched or shrunk. I always plan for the worst and hope for the best.

The trailer turned out great. One suggestion ... Section the fenders and weld in a center strip to widen them for full coverage.
