I am planning a trip to the Core Banks this summer sometime too. How was the sand out there? I know farther North it can get really deep. Did you have any trouble? How far up the island were you able to go? I'll be solo in an FJ60 with 31" ATs. You think I'll run into much trouble?

I say 3" lift with full coils, add a leafs, shocks, and swaybar disconnects. That is still a budget lift because you can get that for $255 which is just slightely more than the spacers. Go ahead and do it right. Then throw some 31x10.50 all terrains on it. It will go anywhere he will ever need...

Jealous of you both! Almost bought a Honda XR250L last week but I picked up an FJ62 instead. Hope you both have a great time on them!

I just purchased an 88 fj62 and I love it. I am getting the kinks out as we speak but its a strong runner so far. I have wanted one for a long time to use as a long distance offroad rig. It works for me.

Replaced the oil and filter and ran some Seafoam through it. Also added some to the gas. Removed the bumper and started figuring out how the winch is going to sit. Here it is just sitting in place. I have to have some welding done and find some more plate steel to make it look cleaner.

Hey if you look at the backseat picture I previously posted I think you can see that they arnt. Not sure whats up with that but I dont have the original console, so I dont know how it is supposed to be.
