    Finally my 1988 fj62

Thanks folks. Trail Outfitters, thanks for the offer, I will keep you in mind once I jump in to that. I installed the new alternator and battery today and she cranked right up. Ran great but had a little top end noise so I opened the oil cap to check it out. No oil there. Checked the dipstick...

    Flares or Flareless

Those are the best looking after market flares I have seen on an XJ.

    Finally my 1988 fj62

Thanks, I plan on some mild modifications, but I would like to keep it pretty close to its original condition. I am going to do something different with the winch mount and bumper. I havnt decided that yet. I'm sure the springs and shocks could stand to be replaced so maybe 3-4" of lift and...

    Finally my 1988 fj62

So here are some pictures of the LC. I hooked it up to my truck's power today and it purred like a kitten. The alternator seems to be bad and the battery is totally dead, so I ordered a new alternator today as well. Hopefully it will be cruisin the streets by next week.

    CE Winches

:xxrotflma Just dont let the terrorist get a hold of it! You could pull down the WTC with that thing! Seriously though, thanks for all of the feedback guys. Knowing that I essentially have an undercover Milemarker gives me much more confidence in its ability.

    Jeep dependability near last place

Maybe so, and the little stuff doesnt bother me at all. I have owned 3 XJs, so you know the little annoyances arnt my issue:elkgrin:! My major concern is long term reliability with the engine, trans, tcase, and axles. I dont think the JKs have quite enough hard miles on them yet to prove...

    Jeep dependability near last place

These polls are something I pay very close attention too. But the drivetrain issues are what I try to focus on. Jeep completely changed this vehicle when they went to the JK. The TJ was a good vehicle with the 4.0 and they decided to take something good and completely change it. I am a potential...

    CE Winches

I have never run with a winch in the past so I dont anticipate using it too much. It is a last resort if you ask me. I figured they were the same because there was literally not a screw different in the two. I have heard good things about the newer Milemarker winches so I think I will give this...

    Finally my 1988 fj62

Thanks, I definitely know nothing about the 3FE, which is actually kind of exciting. The winch is an old WARN MX6085. It's rated at 6,000 lbs but according to some it will pull as strong as some new 8,000 lb winches. I have actually got it for sale already.

    CE Winches

Hey folks, I have a brand new Chicago Electric 8000 lb winch I bought off of a kid for a steal. I wasnt too sure about the quality but I was in 4wheelparts the other day and noticed the Milemarker winches. One of them was just like my CE winch. Everything was the same, the only thing different...

    Flares or Flareless

Mine is just an opinion but, I really dont like bushwackers. I have never seen a truck I liked them on. Its just a personal preference. I do like Rusty's flares though. I think they follow the lines of the XJ better.

    Finally my 1988 fj62

Thank you, I love the color as well. I almost bought one last year that was the same color but it got away. I thought the winch was some kind of factory setup when I saw it in pictures too. It turns out, however, the original owner fabbed this setup himself. The guy I bought it from didnt even...
