Welcome aboard. I was at the government auction last week and picked up an '04 Silverado. Right after I did an '88 diesel Suburban that looked to me like a 3500 came through the line. It was in great shape and went for $1200! If only I hadnt maxed out my cash flow!
I learned how to drive on an...
After looking at my ride height and camber angle pretty closely it looks like someone dropped the torsion bar bolts down really low and didnt get the camber adjusted. I cranked them up today and ended up with about 2" of lift and it didnt throw off my camber very bad at all. After filling up my...
I just purchased a 2001 Chevy 1500 4x4 that I will be building. I am not sure which direction I am going to go with it yet. It is a long bed and I would like to take advantage of all of that room back there.
Thanks for the insight. I think I'm going to go ahead and beef up my suspension with the 2500HD components to gain some ground clearance and also for camping. I dont plan on hauling heavy loads but I would like to eventually build this to be some sort of camper and I think the stronger leafs...
Thanks for all the info folks. I did leave out that my truck is 4x4. I was able to do some more searching and found this link on another site;http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/general-discussion/offroad/65871-ford-keys-torsion-bar-cranking-replacing-tech.html
It looks like the heavier torsion...
Yeah I personally have been pretty busy. It has just slowed down since we are finished with all our cardiology stuff.
We started clinicals a while back. I have 300 out of 500 hours completed. I wish that I could go to a trauma center. We have got 4 within driving distance of my class and I cant...
I just bought a 2004 Chevy 1500 reg cab long bed. I purchased it from a government auction. Judging by the color and the brush scratches down the side I think it was either a NFS truck or Wildlife Resources. I am new to late model, domestic trucks, so I dont know much about this one. The front...
I currently own a 2nd Gen and I have owned a couple Tacos with the 3.4 and it is by far the better engine. As was pointed out the front end of the 3rd gen 4runner/1st gen Taco is much easier to work with also. If I had up to 12,000 to spend I would go with the 3rd Gen, elocker hands down. If you...
Remediated ACLS practical with flying colors and also passed my Cardiology state practicals today. One more test and cardiology will be done with. I am looking forward to that!
On a side note, I had a pretty exciting call this morning. We responded to a 10-50 rollover, subject pinned. The car...
Had day two of ACLS today. Passed the written with a 96 but I got tripped up on my mega code. In the middle of the code I defibrillated unresponsive V-Tach which had a slight pulse. I knew that cardioversion was the right route I just got caught up in it. My instructors said they thought I had a...
Thanks for the info folks. I will post back when I get something off the ground and running.
Fish-I take it that you work with wildland fire or the forest service? Anything that works in the areas you are in would be a good testament to its quality.
Thanks for the advice. I was looking at a Wilson Electronics car kit. Can you expect to see pretty good signal gains with this type of setup? I would like to use the laptop in camp on east coast trips, and have the ability to call out if necessary.
Thanks, Ill check it out.
Anyone ever used something like this? https://www.maximumsignal.net/store/product.php?productid=16200&cat=0&page=1&featured
Says its pushing 700 watts @ 800mhz. Is this something that works?
I just bought my first Blackberry 8330 today. I bought it intending to keep all of my emergency medical information in and also to use as an internet connection while away from home.
I am a total newb to anything like this so I need to be schooled.
1st off, are there any good mapping and GPS...
Haha. kind of reminds me of this story that came out a few weeks ago. http://www.star-telegram.com/229/story/1375079.html?storylink=omni_popular
You know a guys hardcore when he is taking on the Taliban in pink boxers!
That is always sad, especially if they could have been saved in a regular setting. This ECG would be cool for someone who was operating in a small clinic or maybe a maritime medic or something. Somewhere that space and supplies are limited but you could still treat cardiac problems.
I have no affiliation with Remote Medical but I thought that this little device was very cool. It is an ECG that is compatible with personal computers. Some folks on here might be interested if they are involved in extensive medical support in limited settings. It is a little too pricey for me...
Good job handling that situation. Its nice to have that training to fall back on when something does happen isnt it?! We use SOAP format in all of our classes over here and I never use it in the real world. The blood sweep thing sounds like a derivative from PHTLS (just finished it). Thats a...
