    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

Could not agree more. It's funny how gazing from afar in these threads the zealots and people that have some actual real wold experience and an easy logic to their arguments stand out from each other. The zealots are the same no matter what the Brand may be. But they always share the same...

    PSA regarding vehicle service

I spent some years in a rental house and the only parking was at a weird angle on a super busy street making DIY service a nightmare so I was forced to take it to places for service. Had one filter so loose it sprayed oil everywhere. Another oil filter had the previous gasket stuck to it...

    Anyone having issues with KO2's?

This is the way BFG AT's have been for decades. Lots of issues and huge variance in performance from size to size, vehicle to vehicle, and manufactured lot to manufactured lot. Seemingly average tire wear at best and often crappy compared to everything else. Most overrated tire for the money in...

    CVT Summit Series discussion

Wow that would be nice. Mine has absolutey nothing. Worst feature of the annex and tent. Wind just blows right through. Bottom of the windows for the front and rear of tent and all four annex doors has zilch. Mine is a couple of years older so I was wondering if they had figured that out yet.

    12V Jump Start Packs?

There are smaller lead acid and AGM batteries that have the same capacity as the jump pack you can hard mount. You could wire in with knife blade switches if you want to keep it 100% isolated. But I get where you are coming from.

    12V Jump Start Packs?

At almost 20lbs you might as well just put in another battery though. At work we have lithium packs, regular battery on a cart with cables and packs like you recommended. Everybody just uses the lithium or the battery and cart because lugging around those style of packs suck. there is no way I...

    CVT Summit Series discussion

LOL . I had a window open at 80% size on my desktop and after a full 30 seconds clicking around trying to find the products I gave up and only when I put the window to 100% did the products menu actually appear. Hot garbage.

    12V Jump Start Packs?

I have the GB40. I came back from being out of the country for about 6 months. I started out with 50% charge. Two of my vehicles had dead batteries so I jumped both of them. One of the vehicles batteries was totally pooched. So I used it to do parking shuffle duties with no vehicle battery at...

It used to be available as an accessory but their website is a hot mess now trying to look cool but it is horrible to actually quickly find anything.

    CVT Summit Series discussion

I am curious the annex looks different then mine. Did they redesign the bottom of the doors so they actually zip closed? My annex and tent doors have no way to securely close and it is the number 2 thing I dislike about my CVT. Wind just blows right through on mine as there is nothing but...

Don't go out alone - and bring your recovery gear.

So do I. It would be nice to go with a few friends. But most of the time I can't or I am far from home/out of the country. Deciding to go alone has allowed me to take more trips in the last 3 years than I have managed in the previous 20 easily. I am frankly tired of being told I will surely...

    Go fast camper for SOLD

I mean I realize life happens. Which is why I am unwilling to wait so long for one of these, or a Vagabond voyager. But if I waited a year and half and picked it up and had for week there is no way I would give it up short of paying for life saving surgery lol.

New shoes for my Taco...Need recommendations

I am not saying you don't have a bad set of tires that are causing pulling. I have experienced this too and sometimes you cant do anything about it but replace them. But that has zero to do with the E rating.

    Updated 2021 Colorado images released

You are making assumptions that are incorrect. Not sure how pointing that out is an attitude. There is not significant structure in front of the tires of most vehicles. You are acting like a plastic fender liner and a coolant tank provide any crash protection when they don't. There isn't a ZR2...

    Updated 2021 Colorado images released

No vehicle these days has any significant structure in the bumper outboard of the frame. The crash beam is located between the frame rails on BOF vehicles. Off set collisions are strengthened with angled structures tying the core support and beam over to the fender apron. Cabin intrusion is part...

New shoes for my Taco...Need recommendations

Ditch BFGs. E rating has absolutely nothing to do with it and the harshness is vastly overstated. Duratracs are good in snow and not much else and have wimpy sidewalls. Not just parroting that either I have run across too many in the field and in travel videos to ever consider them. Cooper...

Dead starting batteries and a high output alternator

Thousands of commercial vehicles and equipment with way more and bigger batteries and not particularly different alternators are jumped from flat dead and sent on their merry way every single day. Overthinking the whole thing assuming the batteries are not wired with speaker wire.

Winter driving with 4x4 lift and knobby tires.

True story. I have a 4wd and a 2wd 5 lug Taco. The 2wd has Nokian Hakka snow tires and weight in the bed. I don't even consider the 4wd for my 30 mile commute in winter unless we are talking a foot of snow. People just don't understand if they have not driven snow tires.

Winter driving with 4x4 lift and knobby tires.

Wide tires absolutely suck in snow. Harder compounds and lack of sipes suck in snow. Any winter tire will blow away any AT or MT in winter conditions. Anyone that says " My brand X off road tire is awesome in snow" has almost certainly never driven any snow tires before. So its a game of choices...
