Stupid question: RTT sitting outside in the cold, risk of mold?

I find it's easiest to use a heater to dry out a roof top tent. A propane Mr. Buddy heater or equivalent will be just fine if you aren't sleeping in it. Open it, warm it to 70º for a couple of hours...and put it away! Make sure you don't set it on fire though. Much better than checking the...

And, the finally you've all been waiting for....a two-door JK with an Alu Cab Shadow Awning installed. I think this might be the only picture of this config on the entire Interwebs... An idea of how much it sticks out from the other side: And, the money-shot of me doin' a little BBQ in the...

Now the best part! I got to open it. It didn't seem to ship with the part needed to attach to the rack when fully opened, so for now I used a shoulder strap from a Buddy Heater: One pic: Another pic from down unda: And the reason that I went with the Shadow Awning....full coverage for the...

Now, the Shadow Awning didn't arrive with any instructions of any kind, and the cover comes in a separate box than the awning. It took some thinking to figure out how to approach all this. I came up with: Finding the mounting bracket positions. Figuring out if the brackets need to be attached...

Today I installed my new Alu Cab Shadow Awning. Rin at OK4WD sold it to me along with the Front Runner Slimline II brackets (both US driver side). The brackets seems to be galvanized steel, so I took them to my bro-in-lay for some DIY powder coating: Next was to remove the Fiamma F35 Pro. This...

    Snow Peak Addiction

I finally used my single BBQ box today and it's really cool! Didn't seem like I could get it hot enough though. Who was the guy on here that was selling the inserts to improve air flow? I went back a few pages and didn't find him. I cooked the steaks longer than usual, and they caramelized...

    Relieve my ignorance

I have a Baroud Space on a two door JK. Typically, the ladder is stored inside the tent, but I bought a telescoping ladder that will fit inside the Jeep. If you store bedding inside the RTT there isn't really room for anything else IMO. No way to lock the Barouds that I know of. Some Autohome...

    Electric Chain Saw???

Man, I'm really torn about which way to go. Something tells me that I'm going to wind up with one of each to evaluate. ;)

    Electric Chain Saw???

Interesting thread. While visiting my brother in law tonight I noticed he had a Stihl MS 261 and I have been eyeballing that model for years. It looks like a nifty little saw. Coachgeo...do gas saws need to be winterized? I had planned to keep my saw in the Jeep year round. Freezing or not.

    Electric Chain Saw???

Good questions. I tell myself that I'd haul the saw on the Jeep's rear rack with gas if fuel is needed. But I won't. Too worried about people stealing my swag and too lazy to move things in and out of the Jeep all the time :) So, it will need to be kept in the Jeep somewhere. I rarely take the...

    Electric Chain Saw???

I would think it takes a while to get through an 8 or 10 inch log with a sawzall. Do you cut logs that large with it?

    Electric Chain Saw???

I've been trying to talk myself into buying a chain saw for years...just can't do it. Hauling the saw + gas + oil + tools for something I only need once each year seems like a lot of work. But, yesterday I saw one of the new electric Stihl saws . Anybody tried one? I think this might be what I...

Any news on when ARB's new 'JACK' will be available in US?

Appr. $750.00 US? That's just absolutely crazy. That can't be right. I was thinking somewhere around $150.00. MAYBE $200.00. WOW!

I managed to get a picture of my fathers' overland rig today after our Easter dinner. Thought that some of you might be interested: He is sneaking up on 70..but still packs this thing up and heads out into the wild to camp for a night or two. Sometimes he makes it over into Idaho. I'll tell...

    Ex Trailer Kitchens...

I have a Kanz kitchen. It's a great rig for one or two people. Easy to switch between rigs (or trailers). It looks like he is going to be selling kitchens this year. He doesn't sell them every year. I had to settle for a used one last year. Recently bought some Snow Peak IGT gear, but haven't...

    Molle style spice rack?

I just bought a set of these for my JeepKitchen. Bet you could sew the white plastic bracket to something that is molle compatible. Cheap, simple, and IMO large enough that you won't need to refill them after each trip.

Well, it's heavy and it's very expensive, but I needed the space. It gives me a place to haul dirty stuff, place the heater when it is running, and hopefully store a night's worth of firewood. If I decide to haul a chainsaw instead of firewood, it and the gas will go on the TF rack. My biggest...
