Super Single Conversion - Anyone actually change a flat offroad?

If you keep your rear axle weight ~ 8,000 lbs you can run LT tires. Lots of goodness to that approach IMO. The stock weight is surely < 3,000 lbs, so 5,000 could be added on the rear. If you keep your CG well forward of the axle then maybe 7-8k lbs total load?

Central Baja Loop in 4x4 Camper

Nice, Matt! I didn't know you had a house in Baja Sur, that's pretty cool! I've only been down there once, in '96 I think. Spent the winter camping on the east side, about 2/3s up the Concepcion peninsula for a few weeks, but mostly near the place called San Basillio on the map... actually the...

    Isuzu npr 4wd

In the desert SW the paths to get anywhere are SxS, ATV, UTV, etc trails. Not even jeeps! Mostly not, anyway... That's how I get to where I want to go in my behemoth. It's slow going, rough. The "bumps" (about 6" high, 3' peak to peak?) they naturally make in the surface are quite annoying...

    Isuzu npr 4wd

IME in the western US, it's not unusual at all to have the whole rig supported on 2 opposite corners. Going though a ditch at an angle for instance... or just rocks and bumps and ruts on any trail. You need to be able to accommodate that or you'll be pretty restricted. If you have a berth over...

If your subframe rests on the chassis, then the subframe can only move up from the chassis... not down. I like this video for showing how much twist is possible. This probably used springs with the rear fixed.

Impact of Congress voting to sell Federal lands?

Impact of Congress voting to sell Federal lands?

https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/5375473-senate-removes-provision-that-would-sell-off-public-lands-from-megabill/ “Because of the strict constraints of the budget reconciliation process, I was unable to secure clear, enforceable safeguards to guarantee that these lands would be...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

It needs to clear when turning and also compressing the suspension. The outer tread will hit the fore-aft fender when turning if the tire is too outboard. A lift doesn't help unless it's a lot (5"+) and you limit the up travel accordingly. A 2" level is plenty, and taller tires will give you...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

Yes, you need to balance the offset so you can clear the fore-aft fender with the outer tread, and also the radius arm and swaybar with the inner. If the OP wants to keep the stock rims, 35s are probably best. Or get new radius arms.

Box Truck - Raise Section of Roof

It sounds like you'll be cutting aluminum and timber as well as foam. Do you have any details of that structure? Cutting off the top in one piece and adding sidewalls would probably be the best. Rigs always involve compromise, and there are good aspects to not being too tall. If it was me...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

In general springs would be best, but when you are loaded you'll have less than 2" of lift... which should be fine. Bilstein 5160s oddly have a 90 day warranty vs limited lifetime on the 5100s. Check forums and such to see the experiences people have of honoring that, and how much trouble it...

Box Truck - Raise Section of Roof

That big thing/hole at the front roof is for a refrigeration unit I guess? Do you want to raise all of the roof, and if so, why?

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

Digressive (and high) damping is main thing for that, and they can both be custom valved. I think the bigger shock and external reservoirs mainly allow for greater sustained cycling without overheating. In other words you can get the damping you need with a smaller shock, but they will be more...

Earth Roamer vs Northern Lite Rig—Go!

Since the camper is 98" wide anyway, might as well get the wider truck with the better turning radius. The NLs are in the 3,000 to 4,000 lb range, wet. If you can keep the axle weights <8,000 lbs total, then LT tires are viable.

Yes, even loaded on the highway I run 35-40 psi , and down to 20 on washboard. 325/65r18s which are fat 35s.

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

You don't need any lift to fit 37s, but you may hit the radius arm or swaybar if the wheels are too tucked in, or the front and rear of the fender/wheelwell if the wheels are too far out. A lift doesn't help these issues. 11.5" or 12.5" tires on narrowish rims would be best. The internet is...

    Suspension Setup for Payload Help

That's no different than any other mod. If you mod something the dealer will void the warranty on any related parts. If you want to make the frame stronger, I'd advise finding out where the weak parts are (where it has failed for others) and reinforce those areas, but do not stiffen them...
