Pretty sure for 2025 you can get AWD hybrid.
Frankly the poor ground clearance with either of these will likely be the main limit on where you can go, and AWD without low range isn't going to help much anyway.
Where did you get the .55 and .45 numbers from? Pretty sure your front axle will have >55% of the weight when bare, and more than 55% of your added load will be on the rear axle.
Get it teetering on diagonal tires, and see how it looks. I doubt it will touch. I have 2" clearance when flat and level and wish it was less. And mine is on poly isolators which have some flex.
I agree, you don't need an articulating subframe on your rig.
If it's 10' long behind the cab, that's pretty far aft compared to the 6.75' bed. EDIT: Nevermind, I guess it comes with an 8' bed.
For instance if you have a 160" wheelbase and the CG of your added load is 24" in front of the rear axle, then 136/160 of the load will be added to the rear axle, and 24/160 to the front. If the CG of your load was 24" behind the rear axle, then 184/160 of the load would be added to the rear...
There are a lot of 37" tires you could use that weren't mentioned. The SS wheels tend to be pretty wide also (10"+) so the tire should be wide, ideally 13.5" I think.
Did you get the single cab or crew? If your load CG is in front of the rear axle (and it should be), you should have plenty of...
You brought up some good points. Those custom flatbeds are nice, but so expensive. And those long stairs never made sense to me either...
I could have easily made mine with a side entry, but I preferred having the whole back open up at the top. This gives me access to a lot of storage as well...
Found the answer posted earlier. No panel detail: https://australmotorhomes.com.au/slide-on-campers/truck-mount/savanna-3-5/

~$47k full up in $US, is certainly a good price. I'm very leery of anyone...
I like the F450! One difference of the pickup model vs C&C is the fully boxed frame, so you should be able to mount the camper without an articulating subframe. I'd opt for the C&C though if I was building one, for the engine and wheelbase options.
Since your payload won't be that high, will...
Not even a little popup wedge that lives on the truck? Seems pretty crazy... I mean... you could very convincingly argue that it isn't a "camper" at all, but just a shell.
Earlier you mentioned wanting AWD for the rainy PNW. I'm sure you know that the PNW isn't wet in the summer...?
They are in a fenced lot (tall fence and barbed wire) in the middle of the LA megalopolis.
I couldn't find any info about them being out of business...
CA has 28% of the US homeless. Many move to where the climate, services, and laws favor them.
It's slightly shorter than a Ridgeline anyway...
So how tall is your door?
Ground clearance is pretty atrocious on the Ridgeline, supposedly a little better on the Maverick.
Based on 1 min of search, I don't think they even have a city police force. It's LA Sheriffs who police this town. So... that's who they should be talking to.
But regardless, they should have nipped this in the bud. It's been going on for months with no action. The real issue is probably the...
Am I right in assuming that height to fit in the garage is the main issue? Garaging is mandatory where you live?
How offroad capable does it need to be?
