Had to put new shoes on the Rubi

While not exactly the same I made a switch from MT's to AT's. I have been holding on to MT's for years, even though my off road adventures have developed from a more rock crawling to a more trail riding and dirt road camping kind of thing. I doubt I will return to MT's unless my youngest gets...

Beauty in Tow: Lightweight Camper Roundup

I agree with you 100%. We have found that for us the T@B is a great compromise of comfort, space and easy towability. I would love to get one of the new Outback models, but finding this one used and local, we grabbed it for a small fraction of a new one. I like the clamshell better, but Ann...

Beauty in Tow: Lightweight Camper Roundup

We also have a T@B. Super easy to tow with my wife's v6 Tacoma or my LJ. Huge bed inside. We constantly look at other options, but this one checks every box for us except the "rugged" image. Folks chuckle at the funny wrap that is on it, but my buddies look inside (where at 5'6" I can stand...

    dana 35 help please

Nice work Dad. FWIW, I had a 2001 Cherokee with the D35 rear. I added chromo shafts, a Spartan lunchbox locker, ruff stuff skid and ran either 31's and skinny 33's no problem. I think it is a decent axle, but as mentioned above people beat on it knowing they are likely to swap it out.

    2005 Rubicon LJ

I trust that you would. Ought to plan coming out sometime anyway, just to spend some time in the woods. Spare bedroom or camp, your choice. Just tell me when

    2005 Rubicon LJ

Holy cow Jim... I am glad I am reading this now and that it did work out that way. We were so deep in a section of woods about a mile from the farthest paved road, that if it did not restart, the jeep might STILL be there! In short we are in the process of building a trail around the perimeter...

I just don't know if I could drop the cash into the genright... though the extra range would be nice.

    P3 Solar

Thanks for the answers. I prefer the packability but I do not want to spend $ unnecessarily for weaker performance. Thanks for the tips. I can use the suitcase style, I was exploring other options.

    P3 Solar

I only see renogy, with a controller, so apples to apples for $4.00 per watt. If you have a link for Renogy for $1.00 per watt with a controller, I am all in... share it...

    P3 Solar

In looking for our next solar set up I found this from P3 Solar. I like the extreme packability, as we will use in several different vehicles/scenarios. Does anyone here have input/suggestions or any hands on experience with this set up or company...

The "Mother Lode" 2005 GMC Yukon

Hope you get it swapped out and back on the road. Speaking for many I suppose, your build is the reality of what we all wish we could either pull off or that the factory would produce. The concept of a fully capable off road rig with that level of drivability and luxury is awesome.

    picked up a 2003 Yukon XL 2500

Looking forward to what you do here and the results you get from the aftermarket parts. I still keep my eyes open for a nice 2500 that I could pick up and still hold onto my LJ. Best of luck with this rig.

    Project "Autonomous" F-350

I am a huge fan of your truck. I think that era of Ford trucks was so well done, that my vote FWIW is to stick with the stock front end ~ Sorry

    2005 Rubicon LJ

Been a while since I posted on the jeep. A few months ago I got hung up out in the woods on the property. Jeep was sitting on the gas tank and would not start... I think the fuel lines must have been pinched or something... so we winched off and she started right up and no problem since. In...

    Help With Finding Ideal Vehicle

IT is all doable except for the MPG deal breaker you mentioned. Off the top of my head I cannot think of anything returning that kind of mileage. I'd love to be wrong.
