    Australian Style Campers

I have an Aussie built Kamparoo and I love it. I also don't understand the appeal of a RTT tent. Used Kamparoo's like mine can be found for $3-5k from time to time (do a nationwide craigslist search - I had to drive ~1800 miles round trip to get mine).

    Super Shovel by Krazy Beaver

I just don't understand this. I can't think of a single use case where this would work more effectively than a regular shovel, except as a weapon.

DC - DC low amp smart charger

The CTEK D250S Dual is the closest thing I know of but the min recommended battery size is 40ah. What is the issue that you are ultimately trying to resolve?

    Volkswagen Vanagon 4x4 Conversion.

Running the transfer case the way you are talking (which is genius by the way) will reverse the direction of the drivetrain on it's own. (Essentially leaving the tbox in place, but driving it from the PTO side)

    Gear oil temp ?

All this from no actual symptoms of an issue. No failures. Clean gear oil. Paranoia is a *****.

Good transmission shop in Denver area?

I believe they do some lighter duty truck stuff as well - they have a HD replacement 4L60E torque converter listed on their site. If they can't build a nice 4L60 in house I'm sure they know who can (locally).

Good transmission shop in Denver area?

I would go to ATS for sure. In Arvada. http://www.atsdiesel.com/ats2/product.asp?p=3062098163

Low voltage cutoff problems - is this a solution?

My Waeco did the same thing on facory vehicle wiring. Once batter voltage would drop below 12.4 or so, the fridge compressor would draw enough current at startup to drop the voltage on that circuit below 11 and it would trip the cutoff. Upgrade to 10ga wire and it will work as designed. Note...

On board air - melting relays

Yikes. Nothing like running wire and relays without knowing what the current in the circuit is. Out of curiosity, if you did not know how many amps the compressor pulls, how did you know what size fuse to run it off of? (let me guess, there is no fuse.....)

Trek Bicycles Powerfly FS Plus e-Assist bikes

It has a *motor*, so its *motorized*. Its not the bike industry that will have a problem with it - its a whole new market $$$$$ for them. Its access that will suffer, because its leverage for groups to use against bicycle recreation. They will just ban anything with wheels now that bicycles have...

    Gear oil temp ?

256 is hot. 315 is really hot. What are the ambient temps and how fast are you going? How has the oil looked upon draining? What part of the diff are you checking with the IR? Everything I have rear indicates that 200* is about the upper limit of normal operating range while towing.

    Carrying extra fuel

Wavian is a manufacturer of the NATO steel cans - which as you've experienced dont leak or vent fumes even inside a vehicle. NATO or Scepter cans are the only ones worth considering carrying fuel in - anything red plastic is just going to create a dangerous mess. NATO steel can (only buy real...

    Carrying extra fuel

Fuel in a proper can is much safer inside the vehicle than outside. (NATO steel can or Scepter). What happens to that fuel on the roof in a car crash? Or on the rear bumper? At least in the vehicle, it is protected from impact and the two above containers will not leak or vent.

    Drawer under truck bed?

Very smart idea. I think the only limiting factor is frame design. The bumper you can do whatever you want. But usually there's a chassis crossmember in the way.
