    GMT800 suburban rides like crap!

The shocks were replaced not too long ago. The truck came with a box of maintenance logs and receipts. This isn't a shock issue it's the low spring rate. Once I figure out what springs to go to, and height difference I'll address the shocks. I'll likely go with the 5100s. That's what I have on...

    GMT800 suburban rides like crap!

A week ago I bought an 03 Z71 suburban with 200k at a fair price. I/we needed a back up vehicle while I rebuild the transmission in my 2000 super duty. It needs some small repairs; tune up, cooling system flush, stepper motors, t case rear seal... What really bothers me is how it drives/rides...

    Aberdeen Washington: 2002 Suburban 4x4 z71 G80 Adeventuremobile/home/photostudio

I'm in for ideas. I just bought the same truck. I'm not a chevy fan but I can't get an Excursion for a reasonable price. I did get a lot of bang for the buck

    New Flex Bow Tent, Questions

I got a flex bow tent a month ago and was able to set it up today for the first time. My girlfriend who got it for me as a gift ordered the 10'x10' but we were sent the 10'x14'! Not complaining but this thing is HUGE! So my first impressions is that the quality is top notch but I was expecting...

    Rigid Industries :: Torture Test

How about a video that gives a 50% coupon code.... All kidding aside, a side by side comparison to similar products on the market, both illumination, and torture test. High end, low end, standard conical reflectors, 3D, reflectors. I'm sure you'll have to leave brand name out but we'd get the...

Ford 250 v 350 payload and suspension quesitons

BULIWYF: All Ford Super duties from early 1999 and up have hydro assist brakes. You are thinking about the OBS trucks. What happened to you is a de-tread which is caused from improper inflation or a tire defect and nearly every vehicle will be tough to handle if that occurs. I agree that if the...

Ford 250 v 350 payload and suspension quesitons

Through most model years the only differences between the 250 and 350 were different rear springs and blocks. The big difference in the sticker on the door jamb that says what you can legally tow/haul. Even if you upgrade your rear springs add air bags or whatever you are still limited to what...

    Sound Deadening Options?

Check out Lizard Skin sound proofing. It's srpay-on deadener that can withstand 300*F A major source of noise is the injectors. A few people have used spray-on bedliner on the 7.3 valve covers and have had good success in noise controll.

Back in the full size game (Powerstroke content)

Nice truck, I love the OBS PSDs. I agree the TTB sucks and OBS Dana 60s are pricey. I would sugest stock Alcoa wheels , they are forged and made in America. Looking forward to see more pics and what you do with it.

    Superduty V10 vs 6.0

You can also go with an aftermarket EGR if you have inspections in your area. Check this place out http://shop.strictlydiesel.com/store.php/categories/0307_60L_Engine_Parts I have ran 6.0s in Alaska in some extremely cold temps running regular #2 and the truck start just fine as long as the glow...

    Superduty V10 vs 6.0

Just so you know the FTE resonator drastically reduces in cab drone, so even if the sound from your tail pipe is fairly quiet a lot of the noise people complain about with diesels is the drone while driving. Yes the engine it's self is noisy due to compression ignition and injector clatter but...

    Superduty V10 vs 6.0

Exspect 8-13mpg, and the spark plug problem is more than being a pain to access, breaking off into the head is common so is them shooting out while driving down the road. I would rather have the troublesome 6.0 than the V10. If you want to quiet it down go with a Hushpower muffler and a FTE...

Ram 2500: FlipPac or A.R.E. DCU 36" for Alaska?

I lived in AK for a few years and I can tell you that the weather is very inconsistent. My first summer there the weather was unbelievable! But the second summer it rained ALL THE TIME and would go from perfect to precipitation in a hurry. Saying that I would go with the DCU, it’s more rugged...

Question for users of older diesels.

In my 7.3 powerstroke I too run 2stroke 1oz/gal. there is a big difference in injector chatter. Every now and then I run WMO. I think I’ve found a large source of WMO and I plan on running it regularly. Some people freak out when they hear this but there are some folks with75k+ miles on it...

    Hutchinson Wheels

Well I guess I should have clarified, I can’t seem to find an E rated tire in 17” in other than stock size or close to stock size. I would need a 315/70/17 or something close, I have a 4 inch lift and anything <35” looks goofy. But thanks for the list bud..

    Hutchinson Wheels

Ford 7.3 mileage, pure highway.. experience?

There is something wrong if you are getting mileage like that on the highway even with the leveling kit and tires. I have a 2000 CCSB 4wd 7.3 SD with a leveling kit and 285/27/16 and I get 21mpg hand calculated on the highway during road trips and mid 17s to 18 mpg on an average tank of mixed...
