I'm glad that I ran into this thread, I have the same truck in the same color, and that smartcap looks great on your rig! Good luck with the sale!

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

I actually keep a blue Nalgene bottle in the back of my truck for my 5-year-old, since anyone with a small kid knows there's a finite amount if time between, "I have to go potty" and "oopsies, I need new underwear". I find that people don't think twice when I dump a Nalgene bottle out in the...

    Project "Autonomous" F-350

I've been happy with it for the most part, but it definitely doesn't replace a commercial unit. Most of my use has been for lawnmower tires, and dried up rollers for my Willys Jeep. I've changed up to 33's with it. There's some definite upgrades that I would say need to be made to get the most...

    Project "Autonomous" F-350

For breaking the bead, you probably don't need something so robust, since the force is downward. A pallet may do in that case. The HF tire changer may need reinforcement in the bead breaker arms - mine hasn't bent yet, but I've seen many others that have. I did, however, bend my lever using the...

    My first Jeep, a 1983 CJ7!

Good luck! Looks like you have an awesome jeep to start with, and so cool it has been in your family.

    Project "Autonomous" F-350

I have one, you definitely need some sort of solid mount for it. I poured a 3'x3'x 4" concrete pad, and it still moves when you get cranking on it.

    my camper/truck dilemma

I think that you have a tough decision on your hands, but think you'd be happy with the f250. I honestly felt that my 2005 f250 rode better than my 2016 f150 (similar spec to your lariat). It was stiffer, but not more jarring, just more planted, especially when there was some weight on the back...

    Hey Moderators... Rules??

I like the classifieds, not because I'd ever buy a ridiculously overinflated-priced vehicle, but because I like to guess what I'd be willing to pay for it, and then laugh at how it's usually double or more. I do like getting diy ideas from some of these "builds" though. I'm all for voluntary...

This is very cool of you to offer it up for free. I don't have an 8' bed, otherwise I'd be very tempted to take the drive. Good karma of you!

Out with the old, in with the new...F-150.

Good luck with your new truck, congrats! I have 73k on my 2016 f150 ecoboost, and haven't had any problems with the engine at all. I just changed the spark plugs/boots, and its still running like a sewing machine!

Hey Chet, I just caught up with your updates, and am blown away - thanks for keeping us up to date on your incredible journey. I also have an aviation background (aviation flight operations major at Daniel Webster College and then served in the US Air Force) although color vision lost me a pilot...

    2017 F-150 build...Everyone meet Walter White

You'll absolutely love the 2.7 ecoboost, great power, great mpg's, and it's a very robust and well regarded engine. I have an f150 with the 3.5 ecoboost, which I also love, but "they" say have more problems.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I took your first bullet of "minimize openings through the camper" to you have the propane canister in a sealed container inside the camper. A small bit can make a big bang, but do what you feel safe doing.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Isn't the biggest danger with propane being in the camper not from CO, but from leaking propane pooling in enclosed low cavities and creating an explosive danger? Your 80/20 cabinet should be vented to the outside so a spark from something as simple as your wool socks doesn't blow up your camper.
