Fourwheel Camper on a Tundra- Question on rear suspension

Whoa...very cool with the Daystars. I have airbags and while I can't give you any specific measurements on decreased articulation, it always feels as if there is some. I'm considering buying new off the shelf leafs...Deaver/National would be great but $$$ are a consideration...and I had planned...

    Portable combination jump pack/compressors?

I was given a Craftsman model as a gift. It works well as a jumper and I use the compressor to air up motorcycle tires. USB port, 12v ports, 110 inverter, bright lite and a blower for the air mattresses. I really like the unit but never use it to fill truck tires; I don't believe it is up to...

Realize My Life Has Changed Help

Lance mentioned a Suburban on the second post. Although still young, your kids will quickly grow up, have friends, and you'll need to be hauling more than just the immediate family. Plenty of full sizes worthy of your consideration, we chose a Suburban for the seating (8) and cargo capacity...

    After OX2012 wondering

Hey Larry...just caught up with your post here. Good job on the pics and the video. I enjoyed meeting you and Colorado Bill at OEX and talking stuff. Your rig is a real head turner and you both have great fab skills. I might have to talk with Bill about a copy of your rear bumper for the...

Sirius XM and new Hawk install issues?

Your antenna should "generally" have open access to the sky. I've seen some centered above the windshield on the roof (that's where mine is) or even attached to the hood area much like a CB or 2m antenna or GPS puck set-up. The wire is easily hidden/routed along and underneath the windshield...

Heavy Duty Bumpers for Expedition/Overland Use: Practical Necessity or Superfluous an

My front bumper was bought to house a winch, but the added protection is a bonus. The added weight has been a steering nightmare now just being remedied. I'm looking for a rear mostly to mount swing aways for a spare and fuel. The bumpers seem to be secondary to the accessories. :sombrero:

Maryland to Alaska - Running solo and wandering the back roads

Wonderful report; I know you'll enjoy your time up north. 36 years ago I was fortunate to spend time in the Canadian Rockies while working a job in Calgary. I still have great memories of running around those mountains in Alberta and BC. I'm looking forward to updates as I also would like to...

    Four Wheel Camper Flatbed Conversion

I have always dreamed about hitting every ski hill...especially the small locals... in the western U.S. using a camper. "Dirtbagging" it in the parking lot, etc. Your rig will certainly serve that purpose. Good luck...subscribed. :sombrero: And yes...Angel Fire is popular with the 10-gallon hat...

    Four Wheel Camper Flatbed Conversion

Nice drop knee...I'm too old, I need to lock the heel. Nice pics of Texas' favorite local ski hill...just kidding! Cali got a late season dump, too. Mammoth is having another "late to start" year and the local hills are still open. Anxious to see the progress on the camper. :sombrero:

    Can you sleep in it?

I owned 2 VW Westfalias. Slow, terrible in a head or cross wind, cold in the winter and hot in the summer, prone to breakdowns in the middle of nowhere. I loved them, they were perfect campers. Sportsmobiles come close but yes, way pricey. If I could afford a 4Wheel Camper it would already be...
