Surprised no one is discussing the Cybertruck today.

Just fyi the Tesla solar model is low end outdated equipment bought on clearance bulk sales. The installers are lowest paid contractors. Warranty is “oh don’t worry if something doesn’t work we’ll replace it “we have no idea what junk we’ll have day of installation so (we’ll fix it)” I know...

    OBI Dweller Review and Discussion

I have raced sailboats at Whisky Town many times in May. Have been there when the wicked late season storms have come in and kicked winds up in the 50’s. I know that exact spot you parked and have moved out across to the far side away from those pines twice!! One did come down clipped a pickup...

After 8 years in a full size, moving back to a mid-size - Recommendations?

Wow nice height in the garage! Thats my pet peeve at all my places friggin low rafter setup zero room. I can’t run yakima bars on my stock Expedition the stock bars literally rub the door gasket when I garage it at my current place. Still shopping on my end the one very small area we are looking...

    Suggestions for next vehicle

The cheap day rental utility trailer is a better deal, my Subaru Legacy did many home project / renovations towing a $20 rental trailer. It did lots of dirt road camping and biking trips too. I switched it to a Outback 11yrs later and honestly the Legacy was better in every way should have kept it.

Still too far for a commute. Money spent on getting there and back plus the hours of your life spent sitting in a car blehh.

    Suggestions for next vehicle

It was an easy assumption with 120 mile commute and wanting a super cheap do everything vehicle. Even in 1997 my poor man budget was 10k. HS kids today have budgets in that range 😆.

    Suggestions for next vehicle

120 mile commute and only 6-8k budget? Don’t want to sound like a jerk but my financial advisor would blow a gasket and lecture me on getting my priorities sorted out starting with I can’t afford anything outside of a old corolla with as low of cost ownership and best mileage possible. If you...

Surprised no one is discussing the Cybertruck today.

The drag on a vet is a fraction of that on a truck. Let alone a truck with stuff stacked on the bed or being dragged behind it. Heat becomes a pretty challenging issue the slower you go and the draggier you get. That really shouldn’t be a debate in an expedition portal forum😆. Cooling and...

Surprised no one is discussing the Cybertruck today.

Model y got a huge boost when Tesla dropped the price $12,000 when they had over stock issues last Spring. Sales of any vehicle is driven by price more than anything. I know 8 families that bought a Y last spring when the price was dropped $12,000 basically it was the best 4dr option for the $...

Surprised no one is discussing the Cybertruck today.

I find that incredibly difficult to understand. The standard pickup has been shaped by service people who use them for function for a very long time. Even if the cyber truck was less than a bare bones F150 you wouldn’t find any service people buying them. So no its just a party trick skate board...

Its a toy. The guys in my hood that are getting one. Drive other toy cars and don’t do anything other than local trips. They all travel by plane and suitcase.

    2019 Expedition Max FX4 *Moby*

Have a standard September 2019 Platinum heavy tow zero issues. It got the phaser software tweak at 15,000 no issues at 50k. I had big plans also but after getting rid of the horrible stock tires at 13,000 miles which were seriously bad even with plenty of tread. The all new BFG Trail Terrain was...

    Considering an AWD Toyota Sienna

We had an awd one in the family for many yrs. I’d consider a fwd one for the mileage and crazy low cost of maintenance etc. Toss some good tires on it and go. If you actually need AWD? It was garbage plus no spare tire not worth it. My dad dumped it after getting stranded the second time with a...

    Surfboards on truck camper??

Neighbor stows them on the side of their Mercedes 4x4 van for short trips. Longer higher speed highway trips they strap them to the inside roof. They travel with 5 usually and have a mid height van with pop top. Full rear box system hanging off the back with bike trays on the box top. They use...

    Considering an AWD Toyota Sienna

The new hybrid one posts pretty solid 40mpg averages for a couple of friends but those are FWD only. Regardless pretty amazing mileage for a pavement rig with that much payload/ volume to play with. 2017 Yellowstone trip we stayed in one location for 9 days. We had a new neighbor every night...

Not very safe buying things here

Yeah watch out! By the way a private well managed Face Book Parents group I’m in. We had a well known parent get her account hacked. And another parent “bought concert tickets” from the hacker thinking it was the well known member. $3000 lost… We all now tell people face to face meet up or no...

Custom Trailer to haul "Toad" vehicle (vs flat-tow)

I’d even say keep an eye out for a cheap boat trailer. You can tweak / modify it easily to get the right weight balance and it will have the width you need to keep the tracker right side up

Custom Trailer to haul "Toad" vehicle (vs flat-tow)

Single axle setup seems ideal 3500 and under is no big deal as long as you have quality tires. 1/2 as much moving parts to deal with regarding maintenance. I get the duel axle argument but honestly I’d pick a single axle as long as added stability isn’t something thats needed. A single axle toad...
