    Caney Creek Wilderness

Our next section was Buckeye Mountain trial. The trail is in some serious need of maintenance, and at one point we lost it all together. I snapped a few photos during a water break. Turned out to be a rare window into how the Ouachitas are laid out... We continued on. The trail...

    Caney Creek Wilderness

We stopped for lunch at Katy Falls. This is a beautiful feature, and I had to break out the camera while Matt and John prepared lunch / pumped water. I could not get my time lapse shot to come out, but I did grab a few worth keeping... We stumbled upon a well placed geocache near the...

    Caney Creek Wilderness

The Caney Creek trail itself is one of the flattest and easiest trails that I have ever hiked. The last time that I hiked it was in 2006. I remembered it being a little horse trodden and a few trees down. As we progressed further in, the trail condition deteriorated. I could tell that my...

    Caney Creek Wilderness

It's been too long since my last "walk" in the woods, and with the weather cooling down and the world returning to habitable status, I couldn't contain myself any longer. I was going for a walk, and that was all there was to it. The weather forecast predicted thunderstorms all weekend...

Artistic Shots- Well thought out, framed (positioned), artistic shots only please.

Incredible shot, Pat. Looking at it makes me feel like I'm there... Great shot. I'm waiting for Robin Hood and Little John to enter stage right before falling over the waterfall.

Need advice on dual battery setup with stock alternator - 4th gen 4Runner

The alternator does not fully kick in when the engine is idling. Rev it up and you will see the voltage jump to around 14V. If you can, check this with a scan guage. The voltage should rise without "bouncing." If it does, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

    rear hitch on trailer ???

Kinda a late comer... but I'll agree with everyone. A rear hitch on your trailer can be just as useful as the one on your truck. There are dozens of products on the market that mount on a 2" reciever. That makes it versatile, as you may want different attachments for different types of...

    Engine shut off while driving?

I had the exact same thing happen to me out near Tulsa, OK shortly after I bought my truck (99 4Runner). After combing through the truck at a local shop, we isolated a short in the fuel pump wiring (after dropping the tank). The truck never threw a code, just shut off and would not start...

    3rd gen 4runner tire size/suspension question

I agree completely. If you run tires larger then 265/75/R16 you have exceeded the point of diminishing returns. Larger then that size will require increasingly significant and expensive modification for decreasingly significant gains in capability... all at the expense of reliability and easy...

    Was wondering who this was??

I see the joke in it. I'm glad y'all are having fun with it... but... I know the owner and can assure you that is sees trails. Its first outing was the Toyota Jamboree 2010, bone stock at the time, the owner took it down level 3 trails in the rain. We did have to go help him out of a trail...

    Question: Tacoma normal water temp?

My 4Runner with the 3.4L routinely gets up to 209, and even 211 from time to time but never higher. This is in the summer, when idling after running highway speed. Normal operating temperature is 198-206. My temp used to run a little cooler, but ever since my new OEM thermostat its a little...
