    Roll cages, your views

This is a good thread and thought I would add my .02 to the thread. I admit, I am not an expert on Rover's. So I dont know the exacts of the vehicle line. But I have built roll cages for many, many different 4x4's in my 10 years as a professional fabricator. Some good points were brought...

How do you cook in camp?

I admit, I take the easy way out when I travel on my own. uh um.. as in bachelor style. Boil 16 OZ of water. Open bag and pour. Stir. Stir some more. Let stand for 6-8 minutes. Eat. I admit, I am addicted to freeze dried food. :chowtime: No mess, easy to clean up. Pot is...

    Is it worth it?

I know a few guys who have have wheeled their Cherokees into the ground. Out here in Arizona, rocks are common and with rocks come lots of flex, and lots of stress. After a years of abuse, the chassis was litteraly failing. (seams turing into cracks, cracks turning into tears) I would imagine...

    Snorkel for a 94-01 Dodge?

OK, I got it done... well almost. I got the hard part out of the way which was making the snorkel itself. I used some 3" exhaust tube that was pre-mandrel bent. I ended up making several cuts, 5 in all, to get it all right. The scoop is a from a snorkel hat I was given years ago. I have...

    Dodge Ram ExPo Build Up

The rock sliders are your typical slider, nothign fancy. Steel tube, welded to the frame. I used 4 gusseted supports to the frame and the it mostly made out of 1.75X.120 (wall) round tube. The only drag about sliders for the full size trucks is the frame is pretty far away from the edge...

    Dodge Ram ExPo Build Up

Thanks for the comments on the tube work. I built most of that back in 2004. I think I am going to stick with stock set up. With the 285's that's on thre now, it drives fine and does well on the road and trail. It has a stock limited slip that still works pretty good. It has helped me out of...

    Steering Squeek????

*I admit, I dont know much about Rovers. Just havent had the chance to work on them much. with out hearing the squeak, hard to say. So these are more of a generic list of trouble shooting ideas If the noise is inside, the it is most likely somewhere on the column among the bearings. Squeaky...

    255/85 vs. 285/75

I admit, I still a bit dreary from just wakeing up :coffee: but here is some insight. If you came facotry with 265's, you wont notice much differnece with 285's. Which is the size I run. You might be 3-4 miles off at 60 which isnt much in the grand scheme of things. ExPo West has a point...
