    Maggiolina RTT won't open, Help!!!

Glad you got it open. If it's an older unit with the blue-pressboard trim, I'd consider ripping it out and replacing it with real wood. The scissors are galvanized and don't rust, but will pick up a bit of corrosion. The screw is steel and will get rust on it, if for example your roof got a...

    Proffitts Cruisers Diesel Conversion.

There are a lot of options out there. I'm pretty darn happy with my Toyota diesel (after working out some bugs). I've been just driving the heck out of it fro over 3 years, 30,000 miles now without an engine issue. Toyota: 1HZ, 12HT, 1HDT, 1PZ. There is lots of information available on the...

    Propane Tank Mounting

I've finally got mine for a 10lb little can. It is a small cage (like a 5 gallon gas can carrier) that the bottle fits perfectly into and sits on my right side swing arm. Phase II is a fold down/up tray for the cook stove to free up the tailgate. 4x4 Labs made the holder and did a perfect job. Bob

Impending Legislation that could affect You (Oregon especially)

The bill has to fail, period. There is no way it could pass. The "public" road requirements of a tire (or vehicle) are way way too variable in Oregon to even remotely suggest after market engineering is not feasible. Plus what would Les Schwab do - other than roll over in his grave? That's an...

Looks like a great trip Ken. I agree with the fall as a very enjoyable time of year also. The spring tends to be flower/mud/skeeter. The fall tends to be dry/dusty/limited color/hunters/cold at night. For me - any time of the year works, I just bring different layers of clothes. Bob

How do people camp in this group? Personally - the further away from anything/everything the better. The closer to the hot springs the better - depending on where it's located. The less rules the better. And since this won't be solo exploring - good people, good food make me a happy camper :)...

I'd strongly push for being unorganized group of friends meeting in the desert. How many are going? Where? If a permit is involved, I don't think I'd be involved. The BLM is onerous enough in that corner of the world. Steens & Hart Mountain are National areas with designated and dispersed...

I like the Sheldon Refuge idea. I have yet to thoroughly explore that corner of the world. The Alvord has limited exploring for any kind of a group. Sheldon still has some hot springs too. Bob
