Looks like a great trip Ken. I agree with the fall as a very enjoyable time of year also. The spring tends to be flower/mud/skeeter. The fall tends to be dry/dusty/limited color/hunters/cold at night. For me - any time of the year works, I just bring different layers of clothes. Bob

I like the Sheldon Refuge idea. I have yet to thoroughly explore that corner of the world. The Alvord has limited exploring for any kind of a group. Sheldon still has some hot springs too. Bob
