    Teardrop Trailer Build

Maiden Voyage Well, we still have some bugs to work out, but we were able to take the trailer out on a quick overnighter this weekend. My impression so far: -Frame and suspension. Dont tell my wife but I think Im in love. The AT trailing arm/ airbag suspension is amazing on road and offroad...

    Kimberley Kruiser Off Road Caravan

Nice eye candy but way out of most of our budgets and not practical for my use. Given what I would presume to be the high cost, I would also be afraid to actually take it anywhere for fear of scracthing it.

Awning and side walls, compatibility amongst brands?

If you have an ARB awning and were waiting (like me) for them to offer sides/ screens/ extensions, you are in luck now! I just ordered some from Alpha Expeditions for a very reasonable price.

Any good camp stove/grill combos out there?

The problem with grills like that is that there is no lid, so grilled good ends up too dry for my tastes. I guess you could try a wok lid on top and see how that works. I had one of the colemans and donated it to the scout troop, went back to my butane one burner stove and volcano grill.

    No Refrigeration Required!

Not possible if you are trying to limit carbs, unless you just eat tuna from a foil packet.

    The Post-Propane Lifestyle

Went to the refillable 5lb propane tank a few years ago, best option then and still seems to be now. I run my bbq, stove and fire ring from it ... not all at the same time of course.

    Spare tire carrier

I just went through the same challenges, finally settled on a cradle design/ ratchet strapped spare mounted to the fender. We should have it installed by this weekend and I will post pictures.

    Teardrop Trailer Build

A little more progress. Today was fender try on day. They need to serve multiple purposes- fender, cooktop in the wind, propane tank protection, part time spare tire mount, stabilizer jack mount point, roof access point, cabin entry step for wife. The tack welded tuber fenders, with some...

Tank Tops, Tights, and Pink Umbrella...

My wife and I used 2 basic rules before we said "no" to a young one- is it a safety issue or is it a moral issue? If the answer to both was no, then we usually let stuff go. As a result , we have precious pictures of kids hiking in oneseys on Angels Landing, camping meals consisting of...

A Week of Travelling, Mountainbiking, and family time in Southern Utah

Great pictures. We hit Gooseberry at least once annually, but are increasingly riding the trails around St George too. Great stuff in that little corner of Utah.

    5 gal water bottles

Interesting. I have been using the Reliance ones for years, on personal trips and with the scouts. The tops leak but that can be easily solved with a pvc plug and some teflon tape. Never punctured one and I have not exactly babied them.

    5 gal water bottles

Any interest in the basic Reliance or Coleman square plastic water containers? They are cheap, easy to find, easy to use, fill and clean. The Reliance can easily be outfitted with a pvc plug from the local hw store and made water tight for travel.

    Teardrop Trailer Build

I have not posted in awhile but we have been making slow steady progress. The design and build have been geared toward getting my wife to go to remote, pretty places with me, for a max of about 3 days at a time. Think ... Toroweap or San Rafael Swell. With that in mind, the galley is...

2 Adults, 5 Kids, Every Country in North and South America in a Veggie Powered F250

Sounds like you guys have thought through alot of it. Your lifestyle is very intriguing and at times the thought of doing something similar is appealing. The #1 thing that would probably hold me back is aging parents and other relatives. I just cant cut them lose to fend for themselves and...
