I turned onto that road at the last second as I needed to get the van off the Tarmac for a change while on a long coastal road trip. Nice surprise, indeed. Took it all the way to the beach, with the views beforehand. Looks like the road was fine considering the time of year.

Fwiw. My buddy just cut a DuraTrac sidewall on his brand new tires. Major slice but not through, and Didn't go flat. He changed it out (luckily it was the last day of our trip) and brought to Discount tire when we returned to civilization, and they replaced it absolutely free.

Actually technology totally changes the safety consideration of that formula. I am a lot safer driving in my late model F150 Quad cab 4x4 at 75 mph than I was in my 9 yr old 1970 FJ40 at 55 mph. Or apples to apples, vs my 4 yr old '76 F250 hi boy . Way safer thanks to technology . Or the '92...
