I wired in series because my panels will either be all in the shade or all in the sun, the latter when I will be deploying the panels. I wanted to maximize voltage at the panels to minimize line losses between the panels and controller. Plus Victron requires 5V over system voltage to kick in...
I just reworked our Renogy 100W solar suitcase this weekend, I "think" I made it better....but I'm very much a newbie to solar so who knows ?.
This application is for our travel trailer which already has two Trojan T-105 6V batteries wired in series and a Victron BMV-712 monitor.
Since we...
We use an Adarac and really like it and it works great with our soft tonneau cover. When not being used four bolts quickly removes the uprights. I mounted Malone Seawing kayak cradles on the crossbars and they ride solid and are easy to load...
I ran it on the lowest burner setting possible, so no damage to seasoning occurred. But it did clean off any leftover food that was on it.
Definitely something to keep an eye on though - thanks.
Might be worth hitting the disc with some oil prior to baking, but I was afraid that it would...
I just used the lid and had them sitting up on the steaming rack (dry), they cooked quick (under 15 minutes). I just got a larger 14.75" rack yesterday that will hold them up a little higher off the disc, should give me a little better control.
Well.....I've gone full circle and am now back to using our 18" Southwest Disk for our camp cooking. I just prefer the larger cooking zone and better heat control provided by the burner. I tried using the Skottle exclusively for several camping trips this year but it's just not the optimum...
I bought my Engel MT35 in 2008. Ever since selling my Tundra in 2011 it's been plugged into 120V in my shop and always keeps my beer at a steady 30F no matter how high in the triple digits it gets in the shop. It's been cooling non-stop for the last 7 years.
Ok, had a chance to cook breakfast on the Skottle over the weekend.
So since I now own both I feel as though I can better compare the two.
The Southwest disk with the burner I bought from them definitely has more usable cooking space, of direct heat. The Skottle still does a good job and has...
I wasn’t sure about the lip at first, but after the first run I’m feeling encouraged. It makes it easy to flip over small items like chunks of chicken by running them over to the edge. Also no worries about losing food off the edge. I was concerned that the disc seemed steeper on the outer edge...
