    My Trailer Power System

Yeah there's now doubt we're heavy on propane, that's just how it came from the factory. I thought about going to two 20# tanks, but we're sitting right around 12-13% tongue weight so we're in a sweet spot now. We rarely use the furnace all year here, if it's down in the teens we'll set it to...

    My Trailer Power System

Water heater is 120VAC/propane as well and furnace is propane, oven/stove is propane. one tank is dedicated to our discada, since 99% of our cooling occurs outside. Our Duramax doesn’t seem to worry about the weight of propane, but I did also reduce the tongue weight by 120# by switching to...

    My Trailer Power System

Fridge on propane when dry camping (have dual 30 lb tanks on the tongue). A few LED overhead lights, occasional water pump (have a accumulator tank to reduce cycling), no heat/AC, USB fan, charge phones/tablet a few hours at night. I have the refrigerator door heater on a switch, can also turn...

    My Trailer Power System

Understood, but what's you're average daily usage? We can make it 7 days on 70-80Ah comfortably, we've done it several times now. With a 20% reserve we have 160Ah usable. Our longest trips are 10 days, so assuming we use more than normal, say 15Ah per day, that would be 150Ah. No AC and if...

    My Trailer Power System

Since I've been studying all your posts over the months I figured I'd share what I ended up doing. This is for a small travel trailer (22') being pulled with our 2017 GMC 2500HD for reference.....so not exactly "Expo", but relative to this forum section and I've paid my dues in expo stuff twice...

Help with Lithium system - charging issues

The voltage on our two BattleBorn's will drop quite a bit under a 15A load, but once the load is removed they will slowly creep back up to what the BB SOC/Voltage chart states. So they definitely float back up quite a bit once load is removed, ours will do that for an hour or so usually. Not...

Battery Monitors, what works and doesn't

Our Victron BMV-712 has worked great with both our old Trojan T105's and our current BattleBorn LiFePO4's. Absolutely no complaints.

    Engel fridge review

It's been set to 1.25 for about nine years now, I have a wireless thermometer to monitor it.

    Engel fridge review

We've had our Engel MT35 since 2008. After we sold our Tundra in 2011 I plugged into a 120V receptacle in the shop and started using it as a beer cooler....It's been plugged in and has maintained 32F since then.

Ran them for many years in multiple front and rear axles and never had a single issue. Destroyed several ring & pinion sets, alloy axles, etc and never had an ARB failure.

****SOLD**** Tembo Tusk Skottle for sale. Comes with burner, wind shield and custom 2-piece legs for ultimate portability. No cover. It's been used about five times, since we now camp in a travel trailer towed by a 3/4-T truck we decided to go with a larger cooker. Would prefer to not ship...

    people with portable solar panels...

I mounted ours on a piece of 3/16" perforated steel and used 1/2" tall plastic stand-off spacers. Mounted it in the front storage compartment of our travel trailer. It's located about 1' from our battery bank, took approximately 5' of wire to get there.

    Fold out solar panel

I changed out the 10A fuse at the battery serving the MPPT with a 15A, and it kept all my setting....which is great news considering that I'm installing ferrules on all the wire ends at the controller tonight. When Victron states that their terminals will accept 10AWG.......they must mean a...

    Fold out solar panel

Yes good point, the more I thought about it I came to the same conclusion. The short circuit current is 6.0A and the max operating (Imp) is 5.56A.....So the 10 ga, wire wouldn't even notice a difference between max operating and shorted out. Of course, the 10A fuse in the holder isn't ever...

    Fold out solar panel

The more I read, I think the in-line fuse I have on the panels needs to be replaced. It's only rated for a max of 24VDC (typical for automotive rating) and two panels wired in series represents one "string" I bel;ieve and if that's the case a fuse is not required between the panels and...
