    Will LR4 prices hold?

You probably wouldn't like watching me throw a $50k truck into a muddy rut, then. :sombrero:

    Will LR4 prices hold?

The LR3 is the smarter buy in all respects -- and it would cost me $20k less all day long. But my own vanity is proving to be more formidable than I anticipated. The LR4 just looks way cooler to me, even though the exterior differences are relatively insignificant. Man, talk about First...

The Adventures of a Land Rover TReK Discovery

That's what I use. It works well enough for me.

    Will LR4 prices hold?

Well said. We all know that Rovers depreciate significantly more than their German counterparts. And we all know that trading in a vehicle is never the best value -- hell, the system exists for convenience and convenience alone. But Range Rover Sports and LR3s are clinging to their value...

    Will LR4 prices hold?

Again, zeitgeist. And most of us drive Rovers because we know this isn't necessarily the case. It'll be interesting to see how the latest generations hold up price-wise.

    Will LR4 prices hold?

That's just the zeitgeist, though, and something tells me it's slowly changing. I'm still torn between LR3 and LR4. You know what kills me about the LR3? The interior door handles. They creak. I don't know why -- of all shortcuts ever taken by LR -- but that really bothers me. :sombrero:

    Will LR4 prices hold?

No, I'm wondering if the LR4 will hold its value better relative to other Land Rovers.

    Will LR4 prices hold?

Life is forcing me downsize to a single vehicle & I have a buyer for my current trucks & motorcycle. I'm choosing between the LR3 and LR4. The LR3 has never really spoken to me but for some reason the LR4 does -- it's slimmer, more graceful looking IMO. I really, really like Scott Brady's...

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

Scott -- does that last picture reflect the LR4 at stock max ride height? Or do you have the extended suspension mod you mentioned earlier installed? Really looking closely at LR4s these days as 2011s with a few miles are coming down into the range of mortal men. Is it just me or does the...

    who daily drives there rovers?

I daily drive a 2004 DII. I get about 300 miles per 21-22 gallon tank. A tank costs $68-$80 in a state with some of the cheapest gas prices in the entire United States. If you really do daily drive your Rover, i.e. to work and back, to the grocery store and back, etc., you're like me and...

School me on diesel fuel systems

6.2s were built through 1993. You can get '93 J-codes as surplus from the US Army for around $1500 (the prices vary widely).

School me on diesel fuel systems

6.2s never came in TD. You can add a Banks pretty easily, though, which requires the serp belt swap. You're probably thinking of the 6.5TD?

School me on diesel fuel systems

A truck engine? It's a medium duty and the same weight as the majority of other medium duty diesels (Isuzu, Dodge, et al). What? I can get 400-430 miles on ~21 gallons of diesel. That is not going to happen in a 4.6.

Are you asking about how to put the 6.2 in a Rover? Or how diesel engines work compared to gas engines?

Interesting choice... Kinda hard to tell from this angle, but my first impression is that it lacks a certain...aesthetic quality. What turned you away from the Voyager or Baja?

I love how the nay-sayers constantly point to the "new Land Rover corporate culture" and how it doesn't respect its heritage or its enthusiasts... ...yet how many vehicles has Land Rover donated to Overland Journal alone? And let's face it, while OJ certainly has risen to the top of a niche...
