    Mechanical question

It's probably not necessarily louder, but staying on a bit longer because, as RNPhoto said, it's getting colder -- so it takes longer for it to warm up. Indications of it failing will be when it's cold and you don't hear it at all on first time startup.

    New Defender Concept

Land Rover's [tentative] decision to move the Defender into the mass-market via the DC110 isn't nearly as controversial or shocking as some of you are making it out to be. Look at the classic car culture in the United States. It's almost exclusively 40-60 year old men with a very specific...

The Rolling Restoration & Customization Of My 88' Range Rover Classic

No idea, they were there when I got it. :\ I can't imagine it'd be hard to find pulleys, though -- lots of cross-listed parts on this motor.

The Rolling Restoration & Customization Of My 88' Range Rover Classic

Dayum, that does look pretty. What's up with the paint, though? Did they just spray the entire thing? Only reason I ask is because even the spring on the injection pump is painted. :Wow1: Are you gonna do a Mark's 4x4 kit or make the adapters yourself? I'm still waiting to see if someone can...

    Camel Trophy

Dale "Rovertrader" had a real CT bumper for a while, dunno if he still has it. Otherwise the closest thing to get the "look" is probably the standard ARB, although there are a few others that look good as well. The Safety Devices Expedition rack is probably the most critical accessory if...

    My new-to-me 6.2L Disco

Good points. It will go to the frame -- everything's just hanging there right now (the picture is a little deceptive; nothing is mounted yet.) Other than looking a little prettier, is the fuse block going to perform significantly better than in-line fuses?

doin' it right: Cut outs for rocker switches -- switch 1 for front IPF driving lamps, switch two for roof-rack pencil Hellas, switch 3 for roof-rack spread Hellas, switch 4 for Radiator fans. More to come...

    LR3 prices continue to fall

This is such an essential difference when comparing Rovers. A $15k LR3 may be a "gas guzzler", but a Passat TDI will get north of $30k in a hurry. I can buy quite a few tanks of gas for $15,000.

I don't care for KJs, TJs, CJs, or any other kind of J.

    Diesel Defender

That's a Land Rover Ninety, not a Defender. Also, I'd ask about the "2.5 TDI". There was no TDI offered in 1987 -- rather a 2.5 NA diesel. The 200tdi is also 2.5L, but wasn't offered until, I think, 1989. It's very possible he put a 200tdi in there, though, as it's a relatively common swap...
