We made it past Moab today and into New Mexico. I was a bit worried about dealing with all the crowds but the town was not crowded. Maybe it has something to do with the 105°f temperature.

Me too. I rode the CDT in 2013 but when I got to New Mexico, rain and mud kept me off a lot the off-road route.
This year I’m hopeful that no new fires will alter our plans in New Mexico
The “Continental Divide” is a rugged mountain range that winds its way from the Mexican border all the way to Canada, dividing the Western United States from the rest of the country. The hiking trail running along its ridge, is the Continental Divide Trail or CDT for short.
The CDT started out...
The Zuno looks pretty similar. I use my Overlander for off-road and RV navigation. I’ve also installed a backup cam and will be installing another for a forward facing view.
True - but if your mirrors are useless then for a backup camera it lets you know if someone has stepped behind you. I’ve not tried it on the front. I’m guessing it would give you an idea of how big the drop off is or if the trail turns left/right at the top of the hill. If one needs more info...

The 1400 size is perfect for 2 adults with room for a child or to keep some gear with you. The mattress is comfortable and the heavy duty tent canvas keeps noise down in the wind and moderates temperatures better than nylon fabrics. I have never had condensation in the tent, unlike other...
The magnetic mount was worked for me in Offroad conditions. I did switch to the 1" ball so that I could clamp the GPS in place. I found the ball for the suction cup slipped when driving washboard roads. Magnetic mount has never been a problem. I haven't had any problems with the BC35 camera...
I've used the Montana on my Moto for years both as an auto-routing GPS and a track following GPS. I've even used it hiking a few times but I do find it a bit larger to carry around. I did need to fix the battery-reboot problem of the Montana by placing a foam earplug in the battery compartment...
I’m really starting to like the Apple HomeKit lights. “Hey Siri, turn on the lights” and presto - the lights turn on while my arm are full of whatever I happen to be holding.
I've run the Overlander for days on end without ever needing to restart. Even on my multi-month trips all I've ever done was put it in suspend mode for a day or two to save batteries. When I stay stationary for a few days I use it to interact with my inReach for weather updates. I do power it...
I too have been using the overland shortly after release. I'd have to say I've not had many problems with the explore website but I don't use it for many planning activities. I use Basecamp on a MacBook Pro for working with tracks or routes. Then, Google maps for satellite view. I'll export my...
Yes
Waypoint creation depends on which app you are in. For example in the Drive app its just a matter of touching the screen and then saving a waypoint (no note capability). In the Explore app you can tap the screen which drops a pin and then you can add a waypoint, rename it, add a note or...
Garmin just contacted me and the problem with the Ultimate Public Campgrounds as been fixed. You just need to reinstall the North America Map. I reinstalled and it fixed the problem.
