I know it would be kooky and likely impossible, but imagine mounting a shell camper where the dumpster is mounted and being able to offload it/on load it just like that.

I have a 2wd 2003 5.4l e250. Around 7,500lbs weight as weighed fully loaded. Replaced the suspension all around and went with the moog coils up front. I can confirm they added about 1" in lift between the bump stops before/after.
Havent noticed any negative on ride quality. Camber has been an...
And it's 25yrs old so it is importable to the US. does seem like a good deal - rust underneath would be my main concern. The tire tread depth pic seems to show the amount you would expect - which would be a decent bit. Lol @ the "custom BBQ table" - literally a set of $15 folding table hinges...
Super unique ambo... based on the questions on the listing, it's 26' 1/2" long... that's a bigggg rig. Can you imagine if this was an early 2003 model that had the 7.3L engine? That would be a bidding war. Still a cool vehicle if you got it for cheap enough and could remedy the potential engine...
That is great information - confirms some of the things I've heard and opens up the interesting option of the v-strom... For now I want to catch up on some of your videos, I definitely may reach out in the near future! Best wishes.
Just discovered your thread... very cool! How do you like the v-strom for the trip's purposes? I'm looking to do a similar trip in the near future, but have been looking at more of the dirt oriented duel sports (dr650/ktr650). Seems like you've done super well with the more road-oriented v-strom...
I watched it until the end... sold for $9,400 to somebody in Washington (wasn't me). Out of my price range, but somebody probably still got a decent deal, assuming that the body work and front-end work isn't too bad.
Here to say that this is a great setup... I traveled out of a van for 2yrs and we just added a second car (element) to our family. We now use the element more than we use the van. So functional for getting around town and weekend trips. GLWS, I'm sure this will find a great home.
This is the epitome of "if only I had the space...". The mold would be an amazing setup to have access to and you could make some decent money (and friends) with how high of demand these are in.
That's rad. And yes - i agree. Get it for a good deal, make it work, and walk away with a great deal. I have to say, I have never seen a transit at the pic n pulls around seattle. You might have to try some of the junkyards that buy cars from the insurance companies and resell the bits and...
Thanks for the info - definitely adds more length than I'd like to the van... I'll reconnect if I am interested, hoping a buddy can build a swing out tire carrier on my existing bumper...
Yeah, definitely keep us posted. I've been eyeing a few vans on copart that seem to have easily repairable damage with salvaged titles... curious how things end up for you.
I'm sure that you're already aware that there will be a hit on long term resell value. Take lots of photos of the rebuild...
Did you have this on your econoline? If so, have any pics of it when it was on? Curious about how much total length it adds (w/ tire) to the van's length and whether or not it it swings wide enough to allow the passenger side door to open all of the way? Thanks...
I've never seen these before... So the boxes lift up to sit level with the frame rails? I can attest that the battery isolator is well worth the money. I have one that looks the exact same (different company, probably same manufacturer in china) and it has been working with zero maintenance for...
I dug through your build thread and never saw you mention this - was there anything special done to swap from DRW to SRW? Did agile do it when they did the 4x4 conversion? One of the things that's kept me wary of ambos are the DRW and the like $5-$10k price tag I always hear of going to SRW with...
Where are you located? Any idea on comparability between e350 and e250? I have a 2003 e250 and the roadmaster website is saying my kit # would be 3612.... but everything else else in the rear suspension is transferable between the e250 & e350, so I'm assuming it would work (just might need to...
