Nice trailer. It appears that you have a civilian version of the Bantam trailer. It's a BTC-3. It is very similar to the ones made for the military during WWII. The exceptions would be the flat panels in the rear where the tail lights would have been, tailgate, stake pockets, and a regular...
We are headed out to Idaho for some family camping. The Tundra needed to have a little bed maintenance. The shell was leaking and needed to have new weather stripping. So a friend loaned me his front yard and helped me take off the shell flip it over and clean off and replace the weather...
So I had a clunk in my front end that I had been ignoring, because I did not want to admit that off-roading the Tundra had hurt it. I also did not want to face a repair bill. I finally took a close look and found two broken sway bar links. A trip to AutoZone and $29.00 later, I had new sway...
They may not look the same size, however, the 1st and 2nd gen Tundras are. I feel like my truck is big, but that is compared to my old Cherokee. I appreciate the size. I can haul whatever I need to, or whatever my passengers bring along. I have been able to go anywhere I want with minor...
My rear links are okay. It was my fronts that broke. I use my truck to haul heavy loads and tow trailers, so the sway bars will stay. Two weeks ago I towed a buddy's mini van on a trailer 70 miles to save him a tow bill. I can't afford not to have sway bars.
Got underneath and realized both links were broken. Really not sure why. Went to AutoZone, they had then in stock for 14.88 so I picked up the two they had in stock and now things are good again.
I was thinking that I need extended ones, but the more I think about it, as long as the links are the same length the sway bar should work the same as stock. The bar will just be in a slightly different angle.
I have done some searching, but I need to work on my Google ****. I got under my truck tonight to investigate a clunk and found my right sway bar link had broken. I have lifted the front of my truck 2" and want to buy and extended link. Does anyone know where I can find one for an '05 Tundra?
This thread has been quiet for a while, so I thought I'd bring it back. I wish I had taken pictures the other night, but when I was in rescue mod I forgot my camera and my phone died. However one more plug for the Tundra, I had a friend call me who had broken down, and need help. I ended up...
Too bad you still don't have the Sequoia it would be much better on the Rubicon than the Tundra. It was shorter and narrower. Your truck however will be fine in a lot of places around Moab and Canyonlands. I have taken my '05 Tundra on 3D, the first half of fins-n-things, Elephant Hill, and...
If you've never seen a wilderness, it appears that the tent is the same size on all of them. To fit short beds, the design the so that the tent over hangs the rear of the truck, and the camper door angles back to the tailgate. You could probably design it lik a flip pack wher it extendes over...
After our trip out to the Dollhouse in the Maze District of Canyonlands, there were some things I needed to do. I smashed my trailer lights on the last obstacle half a mile from camp. In preparation for Elephant hill over Easter weekend, I installed a new wiring harness, but this time put it...
