Just over thinking it!
Nah, just thinking in the case of the bowed roof that in an extreme load situation/metal fatigue deal (point of failure, never happen) that a hole drilled on the underside (all the load from the top) would result in the hole being the weak/tear point. Still would be the...
X 2!
So is there a place here for filling the RHS tube's with polyurethane foam (aerosol can type)? I've been trying to think of how to fill the main camper body structure without riddling it with holes, but that roof structure could be done with a few (3?) small holes on the top side of each...
Hey Chris!
Was thinking about you two just the other day and wondered about PMing you to make sure you were all right! Have an outstanding time. Not much snow in BC anyway huh? Looking forward to the pictures. Oh, and love the starting mileage!
You can't have an 'expedition' in a vehicle with...
Well my build has been delayed..... I may have over spent under budgeted under estimated the complexity wildly over estimated my spare time, on the truck part of 'truck camper'! Any 'camper' part is well in the future! I just draw plans while inside with my girls, while they do homework! I just...
Sorry, can't help on the plywood front. Great progress. I like the idea of running the 1/2" expanded polystyrene through on the inside. Will you have to weld some 'tabs' on to attach the interior 'modules' to? All your structure will have 1/2" of foam covering it and solid fixing is...
When you said about about outside kitchens it reminded me of this - http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/89485-Wedgetail-Slide-in-Camper
Some great ideas with the whole indoor/outdoor thing.
If you are personally happy with 'the look', then I think the pros far out way the cons. Small scratch's, bumps and dent's won't show as much. Far less finishing work (?). Will still clean up and look sharp.
Hey Griff/Lisa,
Yes Wow! Really! Almost my dream trip across that continent. Trust the final prep over the next two weeks goes well.
Can't really fault anything except maybe the island destination you've chosen to end up in :coffeedrink: Far nicer a little more to the right, and down a...
Thanks for taking the time to post up the pic's and words! What a great set up, and you certainly live in a Province with massive opportunity for exploration. Have you ever been out to Bella Coola in the truck?
Where I lived up Highway 33 there were roads all the way north (on the eastern side...
Looks great Pods. You are definitely committed now! I meant to say earlier, those clothes bags in post 172 look the part as well. When you are dealing with just this many cubic feet of living space, you need some of them to multitask!
