You might end up sitting on the end of the tank if you come along on our Cape trip (2015). My rear toolbox gets sat on when going over some of the rock drop offs into some of crossings. Dan.

    Power Problem with FM260

[TABLE="width: 500"] [TR] Ok , I don't know what I'm talking about - but is it not back pressure in the exhaust (that you would expect) but exhaust flow creating sucking on the WG opening it. Like I said I know little about it, but it is an interesting thread. Dan.

    My nuts sheared off

That's my bet too. Where the thread is actually striped away I believe is where the stud has stretched. That's my take of it. Dan.

It's great to see another member join the forum. Welcome, there's a lot of good info on here some will suit you some won't. If we can help just ask. Dan.

    My nuts sheared off

I'd run a cutting disc down through the nut and stud from one side to the other just short of hitting the rim and then try to split the nut of. It's worked for me before. Dan.

    canter rims

Another flat tyre, the second for this set. After all the way to the Top and back and not a problem with a tyre, the wife goes shopping and next morning one of the front tyres has a slow leak. I suppose it was for me as well as she had 1000 litres of diesel on board when she came home. It looks...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Pin stripes add character to the Canter but yes it was tight in some places as was other tracks that we have traveled, all in the fun. Yes Eddie is certainly a great bloke. We loved the camp area. Here's our camp video. The flying foxes did make a noise for awhile but I didn't have any...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Finally been through some video and pictures. After the Frenchmans Track we traveled up Lockhart to have a look at the famous Chilli Beach, nice place but we camped elsewhere. Went to Portland Road up the coast a bit, had lunch at the nice little restaurant (a great seafood meal). Just beside...

    canter rims

With both those tyres you are going to possibly need wider rims than Alans bling wheels sorry to say. It would certainly look mean though. Dan.

I'm still packed so we can go anytime. So yes in the long run we will have to look at dates that will suit most people as it won't suit everyone. Out of school holidays is best but not for everyone, camping areas are not that congested, a lot less people. Early in the season there is a lot more...

    Diving in Head First!

I took my vehicle in to the spring shop and they measured what I wanted and made them which I fitted myself. The leaves are standard width as in Landcruisers, Nissan Patrols which we have here. So they take the material cut to length you need , roll the eyes, put holes for centre bolts, put...

Further along the Frenchmans Track you get to the crossing on the Pascoe River. A real good climb down over a fairly rough entry where the axles articulate from one side to the other. You can actually hear the tyre hit on the rear of the guard when it is at full articulation and turned on an...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Finally had time to go through some more video and have uploaded some of our trip across the Frenchmans Track. This is of the crossing on the Wenlock River. A nice climb down on the western side fairly steep as can be seen in the video but not a big challenge. The first is by hand held camera...

    Diving in Head First!

Respring the front with modified springs. We had new springs made that are 1" longer from the center bolt back to the rear shackles and more set which take it away from the bump stops and the problem is solved. No hitting on the bump stops and you are going to have to look at doing something...

Yes I like to use my Canter to its full potential and it does need a locker or the like in the front. It hasn't held me up yet as not being able to get where I want to go.The winch as yet has not been used in anger but I suppose the time will come. It is fitted with the standard air cleaner...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Lets cover the last 2 crossing that we tackled on the track that being Logan Creek or swamp as it may be. Couldn't get the wife to walk across to operate the video camera. There is a sign there that says crocodiles may be present and she wasn't taking the chance so the footage is from the camera...

Already found your video on youtube and have watched some of it. Also did some other reading of your trip, it was a pity that you ended having problems with you transmission. I hope that you have been able to solve it as you vehicle seems to be very capable. "-- my wife got out and couldn't...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Lets go another step which takes to Cypress Creek. We were told by many that it would be impossible to cross as it is only wide enough for a Landcruiser type vehicle and we wouldn't fit. We were geared up to do a repair to the logs if it was needed and put another log in place. A quick measure...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Lets continue, we get to Mistake Creek. This is a little bit of a different prospective of the crossing, you can see that it can get a little squeezy as you come down to the creek and not a bad climb out. Cannibal Creek is next, beautiful clear water. Dan.
