Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Next we came to Canal Creek. The crossing is just a rocky base with a few holes but not of any problem. This is where we camped after our site seeing at Elliot Falls, right beside the water after we crossed the creek. Sam Creek is next, still not a tricky crossing but you do drop down a little...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Fruit Bat falls is the next place that we ventured to. A nice set of waterfalls that are well worth visiting and we did take video but that would give you a reason not to go and have a look. The real thing is better than any video anyway. So on the road again and you get to Scrubby Creek. A water...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

The next crossing of note is Gunshot and NO, we didn't take it down one of the drops. I wouldn't abuse a vehicle that way even if it was wide enough between the side walls. The drive around the tree on the side track has lost some of its slope from last year so was found to be easier. Then...

I'll plead that I got it wrong and will resolve it. I don't admit that I'm all knowledgeable about the area. Dan.

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

I'll address it to whom ever would like to go as I'm all for another run up there and would like company from a few other members and certainly would like to see other larger vehicles (Canters, Isuzus,Okas even ex-army type vehicles - Na, sorry it probably is to wide for the track in places but...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

It sure is, this is the second year that we have done it and looks like we may go back next year as there are still places that we would like to see. Dan.

That would be me. The last day that I shaved was the day I got married 34 years ago. Dan.

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

Ducie Creek is the next on the track. a quiet little crossing as you will see from the first video which also has my brothers Challenger which makes it look easy. The exit caught me out as you can see in second video, the story behind weather I have it in low range is that Palm Creek I did in...

Our Trip back to the Tip of Cape York.

I hope to give an account of our trip back up to the Tip of Cape York including some of the video that we recorded. All up we covered 5337 Klm. used 1028.16 litres of fuel ranching in price from $1.54 to 2.55 / litre giving fuel burn of 19.26 litres/100 k. A little better than last year but...

Back to the Tip of Cape York

Well, we got home late this afternoon. Great trip and a good time. We meet a few other Canter owners traveling around the area. I'll start a new thread on the trip and hopefully be able to put up video when I get it sorted out. It will take some sorting through as we ran 3 video cameras on most...

Back to the Tip of Cape York

Well it looks like we will be leaving home Sunday morning to go up to Townsville for our trip back up to the Cape. If all goes well we will head off Tuesday. This time we have vehicle mounted cameras and will be taking video as well as some stills. Not taking the slide-on this time, we now have...

    Pugsly's FG rebuild thread

I certainly like the idea of the indicators but I 'm certain they won't be there on the front wheels after the first mud hole so I'll stick with using the tyre wrench to check the wheel nuts when we are in bush. Good for road work as they are real easy to see. Dan.

    FG649 FAMILY TRUCK BUILD

That would have been a really tight squeeze through there probably even without the trailer. It was me, didn't notice you till too late. That's home turf to me, just live down the road a little way. Dan.

    FG649 FAMILY TRUCK BUILD

Cannibal Creek was a tight fit for us and I'm a short wheel base. We were able to get across Cypress Creek log bridge with the Canter last year but it certainly takes some negotiating. We will take a look when we get there in a few weeks time and see how we go again Good to see you did the trip...

    canter rims

That's what I'm figuring, just a bit less than I see with my Landcruiser tyres so I'm fairly happy with the way they are going. Dan.

    canter rims

Alan, Hope you don't mind me updating about my tyres on this thread as it contains a lot of tyre info already. Just did the 2nd tyre rotate on my Canter. We now have done 12121klm by GPS reading. We are rotating 6 tyres so 2 have 12121klm the other 4 only have 6000klm. New tread depth is...

BY REQUEST- MY FG SWB (the 20 cent tour)

Don't tell me that I use them on the road as well. I did look at getting another set of rims to put road tyres on but then you would never have the set of tyres on that you need at the time. " A couple did take a bit of weight though, not sure if that was the wheel or tyre (probably the tyre -...

BY REQUEST- MY FG SWB (the 20 cent tour)

They look great,(what only 5) now the tyre choice is the next problem. So now I know why the question the other day but let me say this with the way that mine are running I believe that I would fit another set. The thing being that I use mine of road as well and there maybe a better tyre if most...
