    Drawer slide recommendation

Depending on the depth of the drawer you are going to need slides rated at 300 or 500 lbs. The rating is the weight the slide can handle with extended 16 or 18" I can't remember which one it is. Best to get full extension ball bearing slides. They are not cheap but they will last.

Anti-Luce clips in the USA. What do you guys call them and where do I find them.

Most of the ones available in the US are very large. South African or Australian sources are best for the smaller ones.

Need some educated advice on camper electrical problem

Start out by load testing the house batteries. This will determine if they are the problem or not. Once the load tester is connected you'll see the initial voltage (13.0 volts), you will apply the load for 10 seconds, and see where the battery voltage falls to. A weak battery will go down to...

    Newbie moving to the USA

Welcome to the US. While I realize Land Rovers are an addiction, and I don't want to get into a debate with people on the values or lack thereof in the Brand, you will find the US lacks in Rover spare parts and service facilities. You will also find vehicles, vehicle repair, and parts to be...

    Twitchy trailer questions

General guide lines are 10 -15% of the total trailer weight on the tongue. Less will result in the trailer swaying. You can also get the same feeling is the tires you are running on the trailer don't have stiff enough side walls.

Trailering a Teardrop with 2013 JKU

David, will do. I'm probably the person who knows the least about gear selection at AT. Clint and Mario are the experts, I just like colorful charts :-) I'll send details and we'll get you all the information you need.

    Brake help please!

Doesn't sound right. You should be able to slow the vehicle down and or lock the wheels up by turning up the controller. Sounds like either the brakes are not adjusted correctly or you have weak magnets. If you jack the trailer up so one wheel is off the ground, apply the brakes, and try to...

Trailering a Teardrop with 2013 JKU

We have numerous owners who tow with JK's without issues. If downshifting on hills is currently an issue it won't get any better towing. Your gearing is good for 35's but maybe on the low end for towing if you are already downshifting on hills. Have a look at the chart below.

Looking for parts stateside!!!! Need hoodsticks!

I presume you are talking about gas struts. Aftermarket struts, balls and sockets are available. It would help if you knew the extended length of the originals, the body length and the force. Once you have all of that information getting replacements should be simple. If you are talking about...

1947 Teardrop: How do I get more clearance for dirt roads?

Simplest way to gain more clearance is to switch from sprung under to sprung over. Changing the leaf spring from being attached under the axle to being attached above the axle. If the Teardrop is in good shape I wouldn't mess with it, it could be a collectors piece. Post pictures so we can get a...

    James Baroud tent failure?

I really don't know what caused the failure and I'm not even going to speculate. My point is that expedition gear should be tough and durable. My comment is directed at the statement that the tent was "opened and closed this thing for 6 months sometimes twice a day". That to me is not excessive...

    James Baroud tent failure?

I don't think the usage is beyond what we should expect as a group of travelers. Many people are on vehicle based expeditions that last years, their only bed is their roof top tent. This should be considered the norm rather than the exception when building product. It will be interesting to read...

MyWay RTT: As mentioned in OverlandJournal

My Way RTT made by Jan Marais in Kuils Rivier, South Africa. I connect Jan up with Camping Lab and the tents were imported into the US for a short period of time. Jan's a good guy with a solid engineering background, full of new ideas. Just hard for a small operation to break into the big time.

    VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION

The placement of the bottle opener is the most difficult decision we have to make here at AT. The bottle opener is the keystone upon which the whole design concept revolves. The design starts with the bottle opener, the bottle opener is the key to our success.

Side reflector placements required or not?

Side reflectors are required, amber in the front, red in the back. They can be combined in the side clearance lights or as individual reflectors. Red reflectors are required on the back of the trailer, either combined in the rear lights or as individual reflectors. There are additional...
