    Coil conversion for overlanding?

Invest in a set of Alcan leafs for the rear and be happy and done with it. Worth the additional cost over cheaper leaf sets for sure. Cheaper leafs can sag quickly, allow for axle wrap, ride too soft/too stiff etc. I have been very impressed with my Alcan leafs from Big offroad. Before these...

    Overlanding Tires

I'm surprised on the lack of Goodyear MTR Kevlar support. I've never been one to jump on the latest tire trend or hype but I must admit I am very happy with my GY MTR Kevlars. Maybe because they are siped but they have worked better than expected on all types of terrain from compact snow/ice...

Jeep JK Air Filter options and opinions

Is there any documentation on filter area between the two versions? I'm having a hard time seeing more surface area in the cone type version. More surface area = less restriction clean or dirty.

Nitro Gear and Axle 07 CRD WK Build

Is this the same WK as attended a April snow run with the MCE guys? seems very similar sans Beadlocks. Nice rig for sure:sombrero:

Quick Dumb Tire Question: BFG MTs

Interesting experiences. I loved my KMs to the point I ran them until they were bald and finally had one give up a sidewall. Friends rigs (same XJ platform equally equipped) with KM2s I was not impressed at all. This for PNW style terrain/snow, can't speak for dry rock like the Rubicon or Moab...

    Awning for the lightweight

Anyone put together an awning using something like Kelty's Noah's tarp: http://www.rei.com/product/808940/kelty-noahs-tarp-12-x-12 I have very little intention in purchasing a product such as ARB's awning (but if I do that is what I would purchase) for a couple reasons: 1) I don't want to have...

    Most mileage on a JK?

That's the most I have heard of but not much more consumption. As said above change the PCV. GF had a 300 with the 3.5l that used almost that and it only had 44k on it and her aunt was the original owner and never driven hard etc. Chrysler gave the 1qt per 500 or 1000 miles speech and wouldn't...

    Cowl snorkel or actual snorkel??

I'd beware of the spectre intake for dusty areas. I drove a friend's TJ with one a couple years ago. When I hit the highway and it had NO power I asked ******?! He told me the filter needed cleaned as it is so small it plugs up very quickly. Night and day difference after cleaning. Just throwing...

Soft top option for 2012 Rubicon?

I ended up going on CL and buying a complete factory top with the surrounds, windshield bar, tailgate bar etc for $500 new never installed. Not sure I understand exactly what you're after but the factory top folds all the way back to the tailgate, the factory door surrounds I usually leave in...

    Choosing gear ratio, JKU

I would say 5.13s would be a good option for you. if you were to go to 35s 5.38s would be perfect. A little extra RPM is a good thing with the little underpowered 3.8, I have 5.38s with my 37s and strongly feel it is still under geared.

Prepping the Jeep for this summer. Need advice.

Sounds like you've got it covered. You're right about the diffs, just inspect the fluid. If its milky at all change it out.
