    inexpensive 12v tire inflator

MV-50, rewired. Have had it at least 6 years. Use it about a dozen times per year. I'd buy another if this one died.

    Question: Gen 3.5 Ltd 3.8L vs. 255-85-R16's

Not sure where you are at for ODO mileage, but I'm just shy of 150K on the '05 now. When I swapped to the 285s and the OME medium springs - KYB G-a-Js a couple months ago, being it was already torn apart, I replaced upper and lower ball joints front and rear, tie-rod ends, front wheel bearings...

    Question: Gen 3.5 Ltd 3.8L vs. 255-85-R16's

Had 235/85R16 on my '05 for a couple years. Absolutely hated them. 285/75R16 are a dream. Great ride and handling. I thought the 235's were down right dangerous, "spooky" is a good description, terrible road feel, twitchy, was never in a dangerous situation with them, would have hated to be...

    Question: Gen 3.5 Ltd 3.8L vs. 255-85-R16's

I run 285/75R16 with OME 2" (medium) springs on my '05. Not a lot of difference in speed that I can discern. You may need to trim a little with 255's and a 2". I'm really close at full turns and ruts to rubbing, and I think 255s are a tad bit taller the 285s I'm running. CNUTCO can probably...

New guy considering a 96 SR

its a 20+ y.o. vehicle, ya takes your chances with any of them... That being said, my '93 SR is my daily driver. Have had it for almost 4 years. Have not touched it beyond maintenance items. Probably the lowest cost of ownership vehicle I have had. 195k on the clock now.
