I bet that spoiler is to help it's drag coefficient / EPA fuel economy ratings.

Pro and con of full size

On my last trip, it was just me in my Canyon, and I honestly did not have a ton of room to spare, since I was packing a mountain bike and a lot of fire wood. I could certainly make room for a travel partner without much issue. However, with a family of 3 or more, I imagine a mid size truck would...

Ahh, looking forward to seeng the rest of this trip unfold. I was hoping to explore BESF this winter / spring with Niagara Overland, but we had to cancel due to an illness and mechanical issue. We rescheduled, but then could not get a camping permit as all the roads in the forest had turned to...

The 5.3 V8 is a great sounding engine. It was optional from 2009-2012.

Wow.. Just came back from the dealership....

Compare to the price of a Chevy Colorado, and ask yourself if the Tacoma is really that much better. If you feel it is, then it won't feel like money wasted. If you feel it is not, then save a few thousand, and buy a Chevy.

rkj__'s Dirty Weekend in the Bush

...With BrettDez and Family. I'll start off by saying, that this trip almost did not happen. It was planned months in advance, and we were expecting 5 or 6 vehicles at least. But, a few people made the decision to pull out, for various reasons. However, I was determined to get away, and I...

    Chevy Colorado.

My Canyon has been reliable so far. However, hanging around 355 Nation and Canada355, I have read of numerous failures. The CVs fail sometimes. The best thing you can do there is keep them as close to the stock angle as possible. So, if you lift, go with a Rancho kit, not a torsion bar crank...

    Are wheel spacers safe?

I considered running adapter style spacers, but could not convince myself to do it. I decided to spend the money, and get wheels with the offset I required.

Would you put a locker in ....

I would certainly put a locker in at least one of the diffs. It is very frustrating to be stuck in a 4WD vehicle, with only 1 front wheel, and 1 rear wheel turning. I have a GMC Canyon with a G80 rear, which locks when the speed differential between the two wheels is too great. It kicks in...
