Texas to Alaska to Texas. 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid driving on the Dalton Highway and the Dempster Highway. July/August 2023.

Great pictures! They're definitely making me want to get a trip on the books. I really have a hard time understanding the mentality of those who can easily camp in bear country, especially after an encounter. Nothing against it! Either you're brave, smart, savy, or misjudging a couple of things...

2007 FJ cruiser - 158k miles overland ready

Great looking FJ! Unfortunate that the sale fell through but glad to see you're taking her around for more travels!

    JK/JL Jeep Camper Concept

How did you address the gap between the freedom panels and underneathe your roof joint adapter? I would imagine that spot would be prone to flexing water ingress.

    JK/JL Jeep Camper Concept

Wow! That was well thought out. That's a very fixed mount. So it sounds safe to say that the freedom panels are not really removable anymore. lol Thanks for the response!

Drive to Arctic Circle in “high miles” 4th Gen 4Runner

How was the drive?! Everything you thought it'd be? Similar to other places you've been? Some of us are just here living vicariously. lol

I love the explanations, (after midnight) and (before midnight) hahaha

Working from JL going down the road?

I wonder what the difference maker is. The weather stripping looks sufficient for the most part but I am imagining the rear window and the rear pressure relief valve must be the culprit.

    JK/JL Jeep Camper Concept

A completely subjective question, I'm sure, but how come you decided to use a Rhino rack cut apart and not make your own? I see fabrication is not your weak point. lol Also, I like the more flush taillights but am surprised you didn't go with TJ lights like everyone and their dog does for Jeep...

    Good article in Outside.

Thanks for the backstory. Context is key.

Texas to Alaska to Texas. 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid driving on the Dalton Highway and the Dempster Highway. July/August 2023.

You know, I wonder if the officers were checking you out due to the numbers on the side of your car. Maybe they were thinking you were part of a rally or road race going cross country.

I'm going to put my money on that guy was sleeping off what he shouldn't be driving with.

    Good article in Outside.

It's not a bad article and definitely makes some good points but it is 100% biased to the F250 and larger Fords and his math is blatantly wrong. The only relevant comparison numbers would be in the suspension, gearing, and brake upgrades to manage the weight. The $18.4k tray is not relevant. So...

    Bear, our 2016 JKUR

I wanted to add this here too. Although it isn't really a modification, on our Colorado trip last year we decided to try out living out of these bins for our clothes, toiletries, toddler stuff, diapers, etc. and it worked awesome! Everything is much more accessible and organized. All of our...

    Well, poor Bronco...

Thanks for the write-up. It's awesome how everyone came together and conducted a safe recovery operation. Maybe it's my overly worried self but I can't imagine taking on this bridge without any back-up plan. Granted, I've tipped over into a ditch before so I guess I have lessons learned too.

those of you looking for a rear drawer system.

I like totes and duffles but have also really come to like adding this setup over the last couple of years. Paired with totes and duffles in the wasted spaces above the wheel wells, this system has worked super well for me, my wife, and our toddler. The bottom right drawer stays full of...

    Weight capacity of rain gutters

I don't know what was changed between the JL and JK roofs but I can't find anything solid that says the JK roof can hold ANY significant weight. The backbone systems offered that bolt to the sports bar, through the roof, look to be the only "roof rack" option other than @billiebob's suggestion...

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

So we have a Toyota LC resembling the GX! https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a44450182/toyota-land-cruiser-teaser/ I like the slightly higher rear and front bumpers.

Working from JL going down the road?

... because one must work to afford to travel? Early in the pandemic, before kids, I wish I would have done this. With a laptop and some sort of internet, you could be posted up on a new cliff or campsite every few days instead of in a home office and accomplish the same things. Yeah... I...
