Mortonm's 2022 Ford Bronco Black Diamond

I hate that they only come with one rear point. My Jeep is the same and I still (after 7 years) haven't pulled the trigger on adding one for the other side. So good for you! Much more balanced looking.

Texas to Alaska to Texas. 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid driving on the Dalton Highway and the Dempster Highway. July/August 2023.

Looks so cool! Do many of the people there seamlessly go between air-conditioned enclosed structures to open-to-the-elements structures or is there a large preference for modern amenities? I remember traveling many years ago to an area in Mexico where the buildings and surroundings looked...

    Modifications for Hot Tropical Climates

While on the beach here in Texas in the fall when it isn't 100 but it is humid and warm, I've strung up a hammock inside the jeep with the windows cracked. Air underneath you and above you makes a good difference. But get screens to keep bugs out. Also, when I camped in Big Bend in 100-deg...

Texas to Alaska to Texas. 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid driving on the Dalton Highway and the Dempster Highway. July/August 2023.

That's crazy! I hadn't a clue that it was predominantly French. I really can't comprehend paying that much USD for those. I imagine importing is just as infeasible.

Root rack that works with SOT

I'm thinking these are two extremely incompatible things. My suggestion is to find a hard top, maybe used, and add a permanent rack to that. Then it's easy to just swap roofs.

    JK/JL Jeep Camper Concept

Talking with Dan at Expo West, he had nothing but great things to say about the quality and detail of the work you do. The more we talked about the project, the more I got excited to see it all come together!

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

That's funny! We looked at one too and same reaction. The rear doors and blind spots were deal-breakers. It wouldn't take much to turn a new FJ/LC into another success with a larger market share.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

That's an interesting idea. Maybe the LC will be all-electric. I can't imagine it'd be this Compact Cruiser but it may be a Non-Compact Cruiser which, no-doubt, would put the price much higher and possibly back to Rivian and Hummer territory. I think most of the enthusiasts would hate this but...

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

It's hard to imagine a role for the LC in the current Toyota lineup: 4Runner - GX - Sequoia - LX If it won't be the 300, the only real possibility is it falling below the GX as the same SUV with Toyota badging. That seems in-step for Toyota's SUV action in the US market. But then again, The FJ...

    Dolores: Our 2003 Tundra Build

Less is more when possible. I added some entry-level Hella lights to my bumper a while back to "complete the look" of the bumper and kinda wish I didn't since I really don't use them often. Some small low-pro ditch lights would be useful though for night driving down the highways but, like you...

What a great looking rig! I love that most of your mods are practical versus gaudy.

    2024 Lexus GX

I'm impressed by it! I love the look, the modifications, and the maintained luxury of the Lexus brand. From what I've gathered, you should be able to get two different levels of luxury trims with the OverTrail package which will be nice. That way you don't have to buy all the bells and whistles...

    Is ATRAC best avoided?

Newer than '06? FYI, there are a lot of automobile engineers outside of Swaziland. Many happen to be educated, reliability-focused, and even enthusiasts of their own products. A-Trac has worked perfectly well the few times I've used it. So has ABS, Traction Control, Stability Control, TMPS...

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

I haven't taken many updated pictures of our 4Runner but here she is as she sits and probably will be for a while I added the TRD front and back trim a couple of years back, and painted it, along with the roof rail caps, with Plasti-dip which has held up great with any refreshing needed. The...

New Rubicon Gladiator- What should I know?

I think you'd be happy with these as compared to the nets. Cons: 1) I jumped out of the seat in shorts once a little too close to it, right after installation, and with it being a little... cheaply cut plastic, the top edge didn't feel great scraping alongside my thigh. No blood or rash or...

New Rubicon Gladiator- What should I know?

Congratulations and nice Jeep! I know you're probably asking about pain points and issues but I'll comment to much-needed modifications. I have a 4Runner and a Jeep and the one thing I love about the 4Runner that the Jeep didn't offer was door cupholders/pockets. The mesh on the doors stretches...
