Great question I'm interested in this too. It looks like with a Gobi you'd have to run some kind of bar across the rack so the tent would clear the side bars. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm definitely curious.

I've had that thought and it may be an option, I'll have to think about it a little more. Another thing that would help is just finding gas struts to open the lift glass a little further making more room to open the lid.
