I got one too - big sucker about 4' long but not super expensive. I hadn't thought about trying to do the math to figure out input:output with my cheater wrench. I know they suggest marking the lugs and corresponding mark on the wheel to match the torque up again ... but I bought all this...

this is the sort of thing - I have one too but decided against solar for now so didn't install it (yet)
truck's looking great - when I got mine I ended up renting a garage for about 5 months over the wet/cold...
if you're tearing out the boxes that make up the compartment, you can either leave the doors in place but functional / or leave them in place but disconnect the latches. For mine - I have one door that when opened it just shows the backside of the interior, one door that is half blocked but the...
well, actually this is (another) red flag to me ... but then $100k for a pile of failure would be 'worth it' to me to seek some reckoning with the company and, perhaps more importantly, do my best to ensure it wouldn't happen to anyone else. but that's me... I don't disagree there is a point...

worth a try... as far as your experiences - i'm another "at least 2 sides of any story...then there's the truth". Not saying you didn't get screwed, but there's several issues in your narrative that make my brain hurty.
hey tom got your email, on the road so just logged in for a second... and not on the road in my kodiak, just the jeep. anyway, got the tires, got the mrap wheels...all the parts, and finally got the inserts from Staz yesterday. had just enough time to slide one over the barrel of one wheel -...
awesome, welcome to the kodiak/topkick club :D
been working on my 3-4 month project for over a year :( .... currently waiting on Staz to send me inserts for my mrap wheels so i can build the wheels and mount them. anyway have fun and will definitely be following along with your progress
for the weight i'd suggest military beadlocks (ie; HEMTT) that would have plenty of weight rating for your rig...but the real problem is tires that small with enough payload in a single. my rig and mattersnots are identical c4500 kodiaks around 14.5k total ... i am going to be mounting the same...
nice truck glad you're enjoying it - i know you posted a while ago ... but my c4500 had two plug-ins for 15a and 30a shore power. one was to run the hvac in the box (30a), the other was just to keep the battery charger going.
i wonder if it had the 2 double doors on the side for wheelchairs...
interesting find - not a fusible link i'd assume, is it a heat sensor that sets it off? is that the small cylinder wired just above in the 2nd photo?
btw I did get those rigid scene lights and cut the panels out of the red painted scrap aluminum, came out pretty good - no pics though was in a...
good for you - if you find wheels that work let it be! I thought I was doing the safe thing by going with alcoa 22.5's for mine.... figured they'd work no problem at all! well the airbags touching the tires = nope ... but I suppose I could try to get smaller tires that aren't as wide as the...
i think staz said he has some stryker wheels - not positive, but was talking about wheels etc when i ordered my tires and inserts from him. btw, he said the new chevy/gmc medium c4500+'s are the same bolt pattern (8x275) so he's working on an aluminum rim of some sort to super single these...
looking good! my 1/2" spacer pushed my outside dual off the hub (still have the alcoa 22.5's on it) ... not only is it way out of balance no way i want to be putting weight on the studs!
got these wheels but now trying to figure out exactly what they are ... seller (easternsurplus) claims...

read the experience he had with the wheels.... that would have broken me, i may have set the truck on fire if i was dealing with that nonsense!!!!
no - check the build thread, Tom designed a system to roll his composting toilet in and out of the side compartment. The top rail would just keep the rollers captured in the track. FWIW though, as cool as the design is Tom emailed he's probably going to change it to a fixed mount for better...
nice pics!
are those the wheels on ebay right now @ $1200 each? ...still looking and thinking about mine.... but I have balance tire beads on the way to see if that solves the problem with these duallies or not. if not.... may go with those ebay wheels for the rear then use the stryker wheels...
hah yeah probably not with those meats on it! the krylon definitely isn't perfection it just hides/makes it not super obvious - realistically I need to do another coat of body filler and block it out better but then again i don't want it to be so nice i'm reluctant to push down a road with tree...
