    Bolt-together fiberglass Jeep-tub trailer kit

I gotta say that your design process to the actual implimation of ideas is simply awe inspiring! I have played with fiberglass work a bit, mostly on speaker boxes and my kayak, with varying degrees of ho-humm results. I also seem to remember that 4 Wheel Drive Hardware offered a similar one...

    Fiberglass leaf springs??

Your welcome! I don't know much of anything, but when I do I am more than willing to pitch in my two cents:elkgrin: With a little scrounging you could fab up a similar suspension suspension system Teraflex offered together on the cheap. The joint ends are a maybe, heard that rumor from a...

    Fiberglass leaf springs??

Like I mentioned in my last post Teraflex springs are Astro springs......Astro vans can be found by the dozen in any salvage yard.......several salvage yards on car-part.com list the composite springs for as little as $25. Rumor is Teraflex has a big box of the spring ends sitting down at their...

    Fiberglass leaf springs??

I have a set of Teraflex composite leafs waiting to go in a project Jeep that I keep getting stalled out on.......I bought them used and the previous owner used them on a "rock crawler" said he loved them! I think that the idea of the kit fell to the wayside due to the high price and fear...

    Your Jeeps Name

My first Jeep was often called a "barbie Jeep" by my friends. It was a typical stock red wrangler........i didnt like the nickname but it was fitting. My WJ started out being called "Cousin Wendel" because it would start running roughly and stall and not restart for no apparent...

Wanting to make my plywood on my trailer waterproof/weather proof. Paint? Epoxy?

My vote would be to use fiberglass resin, lightly sand and then apply your paint of choice. Either epoxy or regular resin would be fine IMHO. When I took plywood storage slide out to be bed lined they said I had to first coat it with resin. When I did it it took two coats as the first coat...

What is the best color to paint this trailer??

Color matching the tow rig looks cool in my book! However I also think that a white, black or tan would compliment just about any kind of tow rig. Personally if I had your trailer (and I wish i did) I would go with white.......but then again its not mine so I say go with what ever suits you.

To sipe or not to sipe KM2s?

I think the decision to sipe or not to sipe depends more on the conditions on which the tire will be in service..........depends on where you live, weather and the terrain you drive on the most and your driving habits. Although I have no experience with the new BFG KM2's I have siped tires in...

Inexpensive Hi-Lift Bumper Mount Solution plus tips

What I did was use fine tread bolts and an anti-theft type lug nut that was the same as the wheels. Then I cranked it down with the tire iron.

    Bolt-together fiberglass Jeep-tub trailer kit

Ok one post and I am done for the night..... I really like that the tub is a modular approach. Your choice of one tailgate, two, or none and a choice in length. Honestly I think the wheel wells are nice touch You don't have to sacrifice all the cargo area like you would if you welded two YJ...

    Bolt-together fiberglass Jeep-tub trailer kit

I think your concept is sound enough. When cash for clunkers was in action I cant count the times I thought of buying two tubs and stitching them together, but then reality stepped in. I ah HORRIBLE at welding sheet metal! Two things I really like: 1. I like the concept of the tailgates on both...

Where to connect sink and shower drains to grey tank?

Sounds like everybody has got it all answered for you. One thing I heard about the other day was a "waterless P-trap". It supposidly solves the problem of the water sloshing out and the smell coming through while on the move. It also looks to be pretty compact. http://drainmaster.com/hepvo.html...

    Best paint for bumpers/sliders etc.?

X eleven million billion! Prep is the key. You can use the best paint in the world and it wont matter one bit if the prep work was no good. Having said that I have had good luck with Rustoleum "professional" in rattle can and jar. Its a decent paint and seems to hold up to UV rays...

    2003 WJ - A OverOffLanding Hybrid

Keep in mind that K&N's (and other oiled filters) have the tendency to foul sensors in the intake and throttle body with oil.........food for thought Wj's are a wonderful platform for "overland" travel. I think you picked a solid and comfortable. Looking back I wish I had left mine with a 2"...

How many Jeep WJ owners here?

When I had a WJ I didn't ever remember the factory gas tank skid plate being a problem. I drug that thing across (literally, they hang LOW) Hell's Revenge, Fin's and Things, PSM and others in Moab........never even dinged it. When I did my gas "tank lift" I remember it being around 1/8 inch...

    Land Rover Pop Up Axles?

Do Land Rovers use a different bolt pattern? And arent they full floating axles in the rear? I seem to remember that they are......but honestly I have no experence with rovers.........if they are as I remember you could buy a rear axle (minus the shafts and 3rd member to keep costs down) cut...

    Deuce MRAP interpretation..

Yep! I looked through the ad and basically it says that she is a m35-a2 with a fake MRAP body on it for "Hollywood". My guess is it was a a movie prop. Wonder how it would hold together off road? The body is mounted to the cab and the original springs on the bed that allow the frame to twist...

    M101 shackle lift?

If memory serves me right the M101 (canadian) and m416 (usa) use early Jeep CJ (41-53) springs. So getting getting some lift shackles should be as easy as CJ lift shackles are pretty common. 4WD Hardware has 2.25 inch lift shackles, greaseable bolts and bushings for $85+ shipping here...

    More then 1 truck?

As long as you have the $$ and parking go for it! When I was into "rock crawling" I wheeled my DD, never gonna do that again! Super stressful when a part broke on sunday night with a week of commuting staring you down. A few buddies I use to run with now have a dedicated wheeler, trailer, tow...
