    Camp Chef Pizza Oven

I just use the Dutch oven. The traditional pot-on-the-bottom way and the upside-down way with the CampMaid http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/152980-New-must-have-Dutch-oven-accessory Old school method CampMaid method

Overland Expo East 2016 Roll Call

I've never been on these trails but I pass them often on my to the woods: http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/conf/recarea/?recid=10540 Very close the the dispersed camping I mentioned a few posts ago. Say hello to Chris (U-Joint) for me. He makes some killer rides.

    Adventure Travel Boot Redux

It's a dang conspiracy I tell ya, Flounder! I was so hopeful that Russel Moccasin would make me the perfect boot. After speaking with the owner on the phone I was so confident. And then the boot showed up two sizes too long and two sizes too narrow. And the eyes touched each other around the...

Cooper Discoverer STT PRO - Deep Look

I just installed the STT-Pros that I won in July: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/forums/144-COOPER-DISCOVERER-Round-3-Entries-and-Voting First impression, quiet, comfy. Much better than the S/T that they're replacing.

    Adventure Travel Boot Redux

That's my impression too. You can actually run in them and not curse the almighty. And you can feel the clutch; that's important. So many boots, especially duty boots, have no tactile feel at all. That's why I'd love to get a nice flexible Vibram sole on the bottom of a sturdy but supple...

    Adventure Travel Boot Redux

I still wear Lems all week to work and on weekends if I'm not overlanding or hiking. Lems represents 90% of my lifestyle... But the Uggs are the bomb when it's cold out. Luxury, sweet luxury. The boot that I linked doesn't look like a 12 year-old girl owns them too; they're discreet and work...

Overland Expo East 2016 Roll Call

It's completely wilderness there, btw. If you want a campground, Amicalola Falls has a nice one (state park style), For Mountain, Vogel, etc. But this area is our favorite for just a spot by the creek.

    Adventure Travel Boot Redux

Christophe just wrote this piece: http://expeditionportal.com/fall-boot-and-shoe-roundup/ A couple of years ago we had this lively discussion that never ended. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/34842-The-best-adventure-travel-boots I find it interesting how the criteria for...

Neat. Mirtes will be all over the wild edibles ---- we do that as we hike now. I have one of the QA techs in-house right now for a GC class and she is super-duper cool. Even though she drives an FJ Cruiser.... ....but she almost bought a Jeep. I'm a big fan of their Trippel. Yum.

Overland Expo East 2016 Roll Call

Anybody can come to a roundtable talk ---- it's at the roundtable pavillion, off to the side of the vendor area in the middle, not the river side, the estate side. Roundtable talks are sit-downs with a panel and the audience fires questions at us. It's fun stuff. Our talk is 10 on Saturday...

Costco fleece blankets. $20. Cozy, work when moist. Comforter over the top if it's really really cold.

    Preferred Fuel type

I have three hydrogen generators in the lab. It'll happen. Just give it time. I probably won't live to see it though. I have customers doing neat stuff with deuterium.
