You are spot on. They are not over priced at all in my opinion. They are no different then Kimberley, Bruder or any other unit with these capabilities. They are hand built, and its not cheap to build a quality product at this level.
I am surprised to hear you don't like the McHitch. For me, its hands down the best hitch I have ever used. I use it on a Rhino hitch, and love it. My truck is so much smoother going down the road, and my trailer tracks very well to 75mph. I really like just backing right into the pin and...
Mine never flew off, but were close. Both times I had someone behind me that spotted the wheel wobbling all over the place. The Timkin bearing are easy to find. I was able to cross the number right over off of ther origanl bearing, and it did not cost much, maybe $200.00 for all eight. I also...
I have seen many of these failures and have had two that were just like the pics. I had a friend of mine tell me the first thing you do on a new trailer is throw away the cheap bearings and install Timkin, and use good grease. Ever since I have done this, my trailer bearings never need...
That is not UN common for vans with RSC. It is a issue, and it is way worse with a lifted van or larger tires. I believe Action Vans in So Cal can help with this. It needs to be disabled.
I have used the factory wiring in the past, and it worked OK. On my new trailer that has 600amp of Lithium, I ran 6ga from the battery to the back of my truck. I now charge a full 50amps, way more than with the factory wiring. It was well worth the effort.
Now that I have towed with the McHitch, I really like how it tows. I don't think I would want to go back to a weight distribution set up unless the tow vehice can't handle the tongue weight.
I love dual axle, but what you stated is exactly why I went with a Kimberley. It has so much room for a small trailer. It tows fine, and does very well off-road, as good as a dual axle, no. Lots of trailers that go dual axle, and don't build wheel wells to keep from losing the room, they sit...
Superduty death wobble is a very similar issue. Lower the caster a deg or so, and as long as the rest of the front end is tight, 90% of the time it is fixed. Manufactures put as much caster as possible to make a new vehicle steer as light as possible, but as everything breaks in, the wobble...
Totally agree. That hotel could have burned down at any time, especially in the past 50 years. I feel lucky to even been able to spent the time I did in that hotel.
I do have my S3, it was not a option, and does not have one. I did do a trip with a lot of dust and surprisingly, no internal dust. I still think it should have one.
It was in a conversation on the Kimberley AU owners Facebook page. I guess the guy who invented it and manufactures them is a well known local sports car racer.
I was told that all the US parts come from Australlia, and that they shut down for now. The US McHitch is selling what they have in inventory. I am not sure of the validity of this info.
