    does a 3.5 DOHC fit in a gen 1?

Ryan, he has a 12v 3.0 so only 140ish horse.

    does a 3.5 DOHC fit in a gen 1?

About 75 horsepower more than the 3.0 and probably very similar fuel consumption (if you keep your foot out of it), a turbo 3.0 would probably be pretty quick though too.

    does a 3.5 DOHC fit in a gen 1?

Kevin's truck is pretty ballsy even on 35's it throws you back into your seat and you can't help but laugh and smile. Should have came that way stock.

    The Sierra Challenge 2017

10 days including the road trip, your truck will make the entire challenge far less of a challenge.

New to Expo, but not Monteros

Yeah, I had a white '94 and my first yellow '88 both had a Sepultura logo on their hoods. The blue one did but once the original blue paint started oxidizing it looked horrid, which led to some flat black in the center of the hood and rocker panels.

Yeah, good times. You should have been there when we shrink wrapped Lloyd's truck shut at his hotel, classic.

Rocky Road Outfitters - How long did you wait for your shipment?

I heard a rumor some cool dudes have some lift springs coming out really soon, tested and proven already. I also heard the springs are made here the USA, I think these dudes are in southwest somewhere. I don't know for sure because I'm not on face book.

So is the gen III really that good

If you get 13mpg in a Montero you will get 9mpg in an LC, I get on average 18mpg in the Monty and I got about 15mpg in the GX470/J120 so I imagine the LX470/J100 gets slightly worse mileage.

    The Sierra Challenge 2017

Sierra Challenge will be geared for newcomers, we are starting out with an "easy" trail to build the confidence of the group and increasing the difficulty with each trail. Stock Montero in good mechanical condition with quality tires are good for trail #1, trail #2 is undecided but 33's, sliders...

So is the gen III really that good

Gen 3 is pretty decent, I agree that it needs more power (in '07 they got the extra grunt they needed unfortunately they were discontinued here). Very solid rigs, a few steps above my Toyota 120 Series (Lexus GX) in build quality, less comfortable seats but far far better offroad. Having said...

Bought A Second Gen 2.5; Please Explain/ Educate > Adjustable Ride Vs. Non-Adjustable

You keep saying air ride seats, did you install some aftermarket bases? 92-93 SR had a hydraulic suspension seat option that some of us have swapped into our later models but air ride is a first. Pics? I've seen some neat air seats in F-550's from the 90's that look like they wouldn't be much...

Didn't know some of 98 winter package have adjustable suspension

At this age and milage they barely work anyway. You guys aren't missing much. Also like I said 1998 had more variations of options over 1999 and I only have the 1999 sales book (to go with my 1999) to see what was offered.
