...and, yes. It sits flush with the 2nd row. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

carrying bikes and a family in an LR3

Yes, I removed the third row seat, then added a piece of birch plywood with metal edges to snug it into the slot, and a piano hinge so it folds up easily from both sides. There's plenty of room for lots of tools. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

carrying bikes and a family in an LR3

My buddy and I have traveled to nearly all 48 continental states in this rig over the last 4 summers. He and I travel with 3 large labs in the back, all tools and recovery gear in the space where the third row used to be, a Yakima skybox on top for luggage, and we towed my Outlander Sherpa II...

carrying bikes and a family in an LR3

You'll love the LR3. I have Tactical 4x4 front/rear bumpers, and Voyager roof rack/ rock rails. This is the best vehicle I've ever owned, with the small exception of the inability to upgrade the audio/nav system. As above, I have a Nuvi mounted to a pro-clip on one side of the radio, and my...

    LR3 Navigation Question

My LR3 has the HD package, but the rear locker has rarely, if ever, engaged, and I've been in some very hairy spots. The traction control system has ALWAYS safely dug me out of some messy situations without ever having to use the winch or any other extraction tools. As far as GPS, I'm on the...

I thought I'd try my hand at plastidip. What do y'all think? I thought I'd give it a go after being blinded by the sun on the trails in CO. I'm not sure I like the look, but I think I'll like the practicality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Outlander Sherpa II trailer for sale $10,500 (REDUCED)

I do still have a few items for sale. I have an A/C boot with small cover, NIB. I also have a fridgidaire 5000 btu window unit, NIB. I'll sell both for $300. That's $100 less than what I paid. No shipping unless you want to pay. I also have a goal zero Sherpa 350 w/ 30w panel. The LCD...

LR3 Ownership Update - Eight Weeks

I've posted this info before, but I went from an '08 JKUR with 3.5" of lift and 35's (and lots of other mods), and my '08 LR3 is just as capable, if not more-so than the JK was. I just got back from CO where we drove some pretty crazy trails. However, the GAP tool will be your best friend. And...

Outlander Sherpa II trailer for sale $10,500 (REDUCED)

The tent is the Big Pine 8x8 turbo tent. The A/C is a Frigidaire 5000btu window unit that sits on a stand and slides into the A/C boot ( not yet installed on the tent because it won't stop raining on my days off). The A/C unit plugs into the Champion 2000 watt generator, and voila...you have a...

Outlander Sherpa II trailer for sale $10,500 (REDUCED)

I'll have to look at the specs, but it seems like the dry weight is around 800lbs, and the tongue weight is around 100. It's pretty light. Even loaded up I can pretty easily move it around by hand. I have a few scepter water cans that I filled up and carried up top. If I end up keeping it...

Outlander Sherpa II trailer for sale $10,500 (REDUCED)

No problem. I don't have any ruffled feathers. I appreciate the opportunity to describe the quality products built by Robert at Outlander. It's my understanding that Robert no longer builds trailers for the general public, as he was overwhelmed by orders for public service organizations. He has...

Outlander Sherpa II trailer for sale $10,500 (REDUCED)

I believe the Sherpa that sold for a much lower price was one of Robert's first builds. He incorporated into this build many lessons he had learned over time; building better/stronger/lighter boxes, using higher quality moving parts, higher quality axles, etc. I payed quite a bit more for that...

It did pretty well. Yes, it was very rocky, but the LR3 tackled it like a champ. I did end up with a flat tire toward the end of the trail, but I got it changed and headed on my way.
