Actually there are two different antennas, I only hooked up the front when I was installing mine. I used the wiring harness you have pictured above. If you have the "Infinity System" make sure your replacement deck has the same number of preamp outputs. My 98' needed a deck w/2 sets versus the...
Hey Andrew, great to hear from you. How have you been since the DV trip. Haven't done much work on the Montero as I'm still not able to put any weight on my left ankle. Did manage to mount the PIAA lights on the bumper and mount a small fire extinguisher in side the cabin. Baby steps till I work...
These are great vehicles for DD, then load it up for an extended off road trip. On my first two 4wd trips I led other folks through DV, one of the guys had one of these with AT tires. The 4wd system on these trucks with the optional rear locker makes these extremely capable off road. Truly...
Yep, WM rack uses the OEM rail tracks for the rear and mid attachments, and then a couple of custom feet in front position.
Had one on my 3rd gen before I sold it. Very nice.
Don't know if you are planning on buying a set of skid plates for the Tundra or making them but I installed a set of Skid Row plates (3 plates) on my DC earlier this year. Very happy I had them for my last trip (first with my Tundra) through Death Valley. Ended up using them a few times on some...
Well, you can include me in the group that was thinking "******- he traded this for a trooper, and a back pack. Maybe the backpack was full of cash????"
Really nicely built DII, GLWS.
Man, I feel so old when I read stories of people in 20-30s over their head financially. Try being homeless for a few months and living out of tent in your 20s, or having a roof over your head but having to eat lentil soup you make from scratch for weeks because you can't afford anything else and...
Awesome, thanks Jay. Can't wait to shimmy under the truck and pull the skid plate (also gives me a chance to look at making a pattern for a beefed up front skid :sombrero:-bonus)
Howdy all
Posted this in my build thread but didn't get any hits.
I'm trying to add some off road lights the front of my bumper and wondering how to remove the silver plate in the middle of the bumper. It looks like to remove it I have to take the whole bumper off to get at the nuts. Anyone...
Douglas looks to be just under 40 miles from Redding, CA. Surprised there isn't a good size junkyard there.
Some junk yards in California have searchable databases, might try those to narrow your search. Also I have been abel to track down some really odd ball auto/moto parts on ebay so that be...
Personal preference , go V8. I have an 06 tundra and love that motor. I looked at 4gen 4runners and only wanted the v8 really good torque, smooth, and very under stressed. Still trying to convince the wife we need to sell the mini van for a v8 4runner.

Alternator capacity (adding lights) and bumper question
So I'm trying to utilize some extra lights I have laying around for my 2.5 Montero. I have a set of PIAA 50 watt lights and a pair of 100 watt 7" (could be 50 watt) no name lights in my parts box.
Planning on mounting the smaller PIAA's...
