I still need lots more miles on my '19 F350 6.2L with 4.88s and 37"s, but I have been finding myself perfectly happy cruising the highway at 55-65mph, no need to go faster (other lighter vehicles are for bombing at 80mph to Utah).
Interesting to hear your "low rpm" feedback Peter(montypower)...
To HPI soon for install of the 4 underbelly boxes. Pics to come.
Then first very minor trip to WA to stay in it for a few days.
So far, the Carli/Deaver XXHD rear leaf springs have completely transformed the ride/handling even further (beyond what the rest of the Carli/King pintop kit already...
Using L-track to attach a camper? Wow, a bit shocking. Most campers aren't light enough for me to believe that's a safe choice (many people are even afraid to attach seats to L-track, even though the mobility industry use L-track to secure wheelchairs). YMMV
Look at the Toyo tire table data (it's not specific to Toyo but is tire industry data).
I'm unsure if the carcass is different C vs D vs E load, since they're no longer 6 vs 8 vs 10ply.
I've chosen to run a 37x12.5x17 D load vs E load, as looking at the table data vs my actual axle weights...
Yes, it's been slow....quite a bit regret with that but learned my lesson.
Copy that; will re-torque them after about 300mi or so. Standard to-do we tell our clients too.
Hmm, doesn't make sense to me. Fasteners for attaching L-track to a vehicle are ~M8 size or so as this is the diameter of the holes in the L-track(often pre-drilled in the track rails); not very beefy at all. And L-track is just aluminum--I'd think he'd use more steel for beefing up structure...
Sorry for the delay all, life stuff getting in the way.
Not a Taco and GFC....but a Ridgeline and a CVT--you got me. :censored:
Carli/Deaver XXHD leafs went on today (finally). Pretty straightforward install without a truck bed or anything else in the way of them coming out the sides. SUCH an...
I love my 4.88 Yukon/Nitro's with 37" tires!
PS--Peter, I just fitted a slightly used 37" M/T into the factory spare location. Doesn't fit as well as your A/T, but it has a nice departure angle to it so it should work for now. Funny how a 37"(36.5" truly) tire can fit into the OEM hitch/spare...
This is just L-Track for when there's no camper in the bed. The L-Track allows you to quickly strap down whatever's in the bed. I'm sure they use some beefy bolts to actually mount the flatbed/boxes to the truck frame (my HPI setup does).
Ver2 campers will have the ceiling ~2-3" higher than my Ver1, and thus the 3 rear windows will be raised much higher so they're easier to see out of.
Mini Maxxair fan is right above the kitchen galley for any smells. A window in the galley would be partially blocked by the flip-up Dometic range...
Good point about an aluminum cabin.
So what's the holdup on the JT UrsaMinor; anyone know? I remember talking with (John is it?) ~2yrs ago, and if camodog has been waiting 18months, that seems about right for timing. A UM top on a JT would be damn sweet.
Awesome!! I hope Deaver finishes my Carli XXHD leafs soon (King's are at Carli now getting re-tuned for camper weight); looking for another night/day difference from Carli!
