Uh-huhmmm...yes they did. But chains vs shocks? Yawn.
They were at OLE PNW and were definitely excited to have some HPI-equipped trucks representing (ahem). Shane the sales manager gave me some tips on taking pics of my rig(once my Gladiator boxes are on) for their new brochures. If you'd like...
No way to mount a spare wheel/tire to the rear wall of an AterraXL. A tire swingout could be fashioned on the rear end of the flatbed--although the tire would be sticking away from the camper quite aways in order to clear the bottom angle of the camper.
Underneath in the rear on a pickup can...
In ~80degF weather, understandably not as cool as the TC Prototype due to thinner wall thickness/etc.
AterraXL has a lot more windows, so the key in the hotter weather is to draw the reflective "blackout" shades and keep the sun from entering, pop the roof hatch, turn the mini/round Maxxair fan...
Yes, a longer camper would give more space, but to me, the AterraXL feels roomier than any other similarly-sized camper out there. The interior layout is just brilliant, feels incredibly spacious, more interior storage than I think I'll need.
Ok, so where does the spare go then if the camper is...
To answer your question, I'd estimate ~1500lbs.
Not a Tremor, but I found the stock susp of my '19 F350 chassis-cab WAY too oversprung. My '19 F350 pickup was less so.
Thank you Keith! (and it's not even finished yet)
I was excited to talk to the crew from Highway Products; once the Deaver leafs are on, and then the HPI underbed boxes are on, they want a bunch of pictures to add to their new marketing material. Quite an honor if that can happen!
Yes it is...
After spending some time in this "prototype" camper shell, not once, but twice, so far this weekend....I'm very impressed. Excellent execution, thermally comfortable even on an 84deg day (where only the Tern Overland door is open; no roof hatches or windows open), light/bright of course. Queen...
I've been talking :poop: about you to Andreas and Quade all weekend long so far (their booth is directly next door). :p
I will say; having their pagoda-roof prototype shell next door is tugging at my heart strings, as it's a burlier version of the Aterra shell. Too bad Andreas didn't come out...
You mean have either a longer cabin(more living space), or a shorter overall length of rig? I don't follow your "You can use it for living space or storage."
If you take my setup and remove the tunnel box, the camper would be up against the truck cab and the overall length would be...
Haven't re-weighed my rig on a different scale. Been on a much-needed vacation while the rig has been traveling to a few overland events with Oregon Adventure Truck, then the King shock are being sent back to Carli to have them re-tuned for the new axle weights. I'll update more when I know.
