Brush Guard - Gen 2.5 Montero - SoCal

I've decided not to keep the brush guard on my Montero. Local pick up only, but I may be able to meet you somewhere 1/2 way for a delivery. It bolts up straight onto a Gen 2.5, and I would think it would do the same for a Gen 2. You do need to trim your front skid plate, but I'm happy to swap...

The short version is that you just connect all the blue wires together. The blue wire with the din plug turns on the amp. The blue wire that goes into the factory wiring sends the power antenna up. The blue wire from the stereo provides a few volts to tell the amp and antenna when they need to...

    bryAWD's Gen 2.5 - 2000 Endeavor

not exactly. You still have to pull the hub off of the spindle so that you can unbolt the rotor from the hub. Unless you know/think you need new wheel bearings, I don't know if you need/want to replace. While it may seem daunting, it isn't a difficult job at all. The most tricky part is...

New member here and thought I would share my LED addition to the interior of my car.

haha, I read it the same way... and was a little surprised to see it was so empty of LED stuff.... but for 7 bucks, I'll buy a set and think of something cool to do with them!

New member here and thought I would share my LED addition to the interior of my car.

reading some of the reviews on amazon, one idea would be to mount a couple of these under the hood to light up the engine bay at dark times.

    Front suspension in action ('99)

I can't say that I've noticed. One thing that might help would be to install a stiffer suspension, that should keep the bump stop from hitting except in only the most extreme compressions. I have the adjustable shocks set to the softest mode here.

    Front suspension in action ('99)

I think when I did the diff housing swap going for 4.27 to 4.63 I must not have clipped it back down properly. Also, this is on the soft suspension mode, I'm sure there would be a lot less travel in the suspension in 'H'... but I kind of like the Cadillac feel around town

    Front suspension in action ('99)

Have been experiencing a small sort of wobbling feeling from the steering wheel, so I thought I'd stick a camera on the front bumper to watch the suspension as I drove around. This is just a quick drive around the block and to the bank that I did to test out how well the suction cup worked, as...

Best way to add an aux port to a factory 2.5 Infinity system? oh cheap as well

I just ended up replacing the head unit. With the infinity system you'll need this adapter for plug and play operability: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-7003-Wiring-Harness-Mitsubishi/dp/B0002ZGEO4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409587581&sr=8-1&keywords=70-7003...

Gen 2.5 Mitsubishi Montero 2000 - Over-landing Family Truck - long term enhancement

This picture is the torsion bar. It runs horizontal. I've never tightened the bars though.. I assume that you lift the front end to take all weight off the bars, then tighten them with equal turns for both driver and passenger sides. **Edit - this is bad advice, you want the car on the ground...

having just done both upper and lower ball joins on both sides recently... I'm trying to figure out how flipping the ball joint would make a significant difference.... Perhaps 1/2 of an inch? Maybe I'm not visualizing it correctly.

my 99 would fall out of cruise while pulling a small camper trailer up grade in the high elevations of colorado this last summer.... the last time I was at the pick-a-parts, there were dudes looking for a montero cruise control unit.... perhaps the unit is just bad. the FSM probably has a...

Montero - Gen 2.5, Reduced Power & Check Engine Light

Sometimes the UG takes a little longer to turn on, I usually notice this when at the gas station trying to reset my fuel level... but no problems with it not turning off.... Although, if I do plug it into another car, and then back into my montero, it will sit on the discovering gauges screen...

What to look for when buying a 2.5

Off the top of my head: when was the timing belt/water pump last done have the valve seals been replaced rust rust rust make sure it goes through the gears (2 high, 4 high, 4 high locked, 4 low). It is a mechanical thing, once the lever goes into place, each of those ranges is engaged. do a...

The body lift looks pretty easy... I just don't like how the front and rear bumpers no longer line up. But if I had done the body lift, I wouldn't have ding'd my rockers last time in DV. And, if you do the gas tank lift (eurosonic), that should fix the rear bumper. ARB for the front seems...
