Issues with the center diff and rear diff lock, advice needed.

when people change out their rear gears, does this cause problems now that the front and rear gearing don't match? Effectively causing the front and rear to now be turning at different rates?

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

that is a pretty awesome setup... but weight carried out and away isn't the same as weight carried really close to the door. I would be concerned that the piece mounted to the door itself would bend or tweak the door. Will be really interested to hear how the setup works in a trip report!

Issues with the center diff and rear diff lock, advice needed.

it might be that the sensors that recognize when the center is locked are stuck/malfunctioning/broken. I have a '99, and I'm pretty sure the center lock is a mechanical one. Meaning that the engagement of the center lock is fully dependent on the position of the transfer case selection lever...

    maintenance list for my 98

I'm pretty sure it is behind the glove box. I just had my glove box opened up past the stops this last weekend and pretty sure I spotted the filter.

Behind the dash in a Gen 2.5, is it really that open?

I thought about that. But the camera i bought (http://www.blackvueusa.com) has a special power thing that puts the camera into parking mode. It will basically continue to record and using sensors if you're car is hit in a parking lot will record some video to the memory card. The box itself...

    Death Valley Weekend - Nov 8-10 - 2013

Day 3 - Part 3 of 3 Back on the road, we made good time down to the valley floor. For just a short section, we were again driving through sand which I really enjoyed. We stopped for a few minutes on the north side of the dunes. We were now on roads that are maintained, and traversable by any...

    Death Valley Weekend - Nov 8-10 - 2013

Day 3 - Part 2 of 3 With Ken through, it was finally my turn. I handed my camera (Canon 5DM2) to Doug who did a really great job capturing me in each of the steps. I wish I had done such a good job for the other rigs. Doug planted himself in a single spot, and took several photos showing the...

    Death Valley Weekend - Nov 8-10 - 2013

Day 3 - Part 1 of 3 -- Start of Day 3 -- I popped my head out of the tent to see if anyone was up and moving around yet. Seeing no one, I let the dogs out and pointed left so they would do their business away from camp. I had slept much better this night. Thanks in part to the over-night low...

Behind the dash in a Gen 2.5, is it really that open?

I didn't drop the entire front headliner, but I did undo the screws that hold the visors on, this allowed the headliner to drop just enough to get the wire tucked up out of the way. Along with the A-pillar trim removal, the wire was easily ran down to behind the radio.

Behind the dash in a Gen 2.5, is it really that open?

I just want the wire to be as hidden as possible. I'm about to head down to the garage to work on it now.... Hopefully won't need to remove the dash to get things as hidden as I want.

Behind the dash in a Gen 2.5, is it really that open?

Looking at the following pictures eurosonic posted, I'm wondering if the area behind the dash really has that much of a cavity. I realize the plumbing for the HVAC needs to sit back there, but it looks like there are still a lot of openings. The reason I bring this up is that I need to run...

Thinking about a brush guard, for cosmetic only

It bolted right on. It doesn't follow the contour as well as perhaps a modern version would, but it works, and gives me somewhere to mount a couple of go-faster lights. Unfortunately the stock front skid plate doesn't fit inside the mounting bolts. So I'm going to have to trim the front edges of...

Joinin' the Montero Club with a Gen 2.5

You can probably put a little strip of red film over it. The kind of stuff they use on studio lights. pretty cheap, you can buy it online for under $10, or I'm sure you can find a place around LA that has scraps of it for even cheaper.

Thinking about a brush guard, for cosmetic only

I did see the picture from your build thread of the guard you pulled from the pick-a-parts. What did you give for it at the parts place? Have you thought about cutting off the wrap arounds?

Thinking about a brush guard, for cosmetic only

like this one? This is what I see... it even looks like it has the right sculpting to wrap around the bumper Although the image above has pointier tips at the wrap-around section. the craigslist item looks flat on the wrap around
