    POOR MONTERO!

Ohh.... priced nicely as well! I could probably also stand to replace rear springs (was loaded down with camping gear for 3 dudes), and turn the torsion bars a bit. Previous owner put on 31" BFGs, and I removed the running boards. Other than that, I'm all stock. Just an extra inch or 2 would...

    POOR MONTERO!

I may have almost done a similar thing coming up Mengal pass earlier today. Key word being ALMOST. There was a sharp, highly banked corner, and I was up a little too high up the corner and a guy spotting me said my drivers front tire came WAY up in the air..... I don't know what "WAY" up in...

Rotated tires this last weekend, tires are cracking a bit, should I replace?

Looks like my dot code last for digits read 1707... so I'm just about on that 7 year mark.

Silly Question? How to mount Trasharoo to the spare tire?

used my trasharoo for the first time today taking dogs to the beach (loaded it up with dog-drying towels). It was awesome to have al that extra space. I have the same tire size on the spare. it isn't easy to install... I tried crossing the buckles through the spare tire holder, but that didn't...

Rotated tires this last weekend, tires are cracking a bit, should I replace?

is there a website where I can decode some number from the tire to tell me when it was manufactured? I'm guessing the tires were put in 08-09 time frame, but I'll have to double check the previous owner's massive pile of paperwork to see if the tires are listed in there.

Rotated tires this last weekend, tires are cracking a bit, should I replace?

I don't do a lot of miles, this is kind of my 2nd car... I commute on a motorcycle daily.... In the last year I've only done about 5k miles on the Montero. I guess I'll start shopping tires and be ready to replace. The kicker is that I'm looking at spending about 1/3rd of what I have into the...

Rotated tires this last weekend, tires are cracking a bit, should I replace?

rotated my tires this last weakend... got to looking at my tires, they look kind of cracked and some side tread looks to be coming off in some areas. I've had the Montero for a year, but it was previously in southern Arizona. I suppose I "should" replace the tires, but how urgent is replacing...

    Transmission Cooler Choices

There are some comments I've seen where guys add a bypass switch to the AC fans to kick it on at the flip of a switch to get air moving in that general zone. Seems like a pretty simple fix assuming it works well.

    Lower ball joint woes

there is a difference between a tie rod puller and a pitman arm puller. I had to use a pitman arm puller on the lower ball joint because the jaws weren't wide enough for my tie rod puller.

    Lower ball joint woes

@Styyy, you can use the Autozone tool borrowing program for free. You basically buy the tool, take it home, use it, and then return it to Autozone. Net cost is free if you return the tool.

anything else I need to buy before doing the spark plugs and wires?

Perhaps a digital camera to take pictures of where all of the electrical connectors go :-) I have the 3.5L without the intake butterfly valve, but I'm pretty sure people regularly remove that valve so it won't fall into the engine But for sure change out the valve cover gasket and spark plug...

iPhone, PocketPacket, Baofeng UV5R and APRS

Your settings looks similar to what I have. I've found that the speaker on the iPhone doesn't output enough audio to transmit over the radio. Take a pair of headphones, plug them into the iPhone, and hold the headphone up to the radio mic... turn the volume way up on the iPhone

Anyone used the Weathertech window deflectors for Gen2 Monteros?

They tape up around the door frame and don't share any space with the window, and don't hinder the window from rolling up. I'll snap a picture or two tomorrow.

Anyone used the Weathertech window deflectors for Gen2 Monteros?

I don't know if I have the same brand, but I have something similar on my 2.5. I really like them. Passenger front recently started to come off, so I pulled it down and just bought some sticky foam tape off amazon to put it back on the window. First challenge is going to be removing all of the...
