Pulling off the roof rails-what do I use as a plug?

That's it-you kept it in great shape! Will forgot the rail had to be removed so we sawzall'd them to fit. The solid front sections of the rails had to be rotated forward so now it appears to have short horns so I nicknamed it "El Diablo". Did you run the wire snake down one of the holes?

    WTB-Foreign license tag

I've been looking for a foreign tag to mount on my roof rack just because I think it will look cool. I would like one of the square styles you often see on the back of trucks. I would like to find an African plate if possible but one from GB would be cool as well. I've not been able to find a...

Pulling off the roof rails-what do I use as a plug?

Sounds like a plan-how much? I think the rack is the same as the one you have on the 97.

Pulling off the roof rails-what do I use as a plug?

I got my hands on a CT roof rack for my DI but the factory roof rails had to go so they were cut. The remains of the rails are still up there but I need to get them off. The plan is to use one of the holes to run the lighting snake and I'll need something to plug all of the holes to prevent...

    97 Disco hard start

Only when cold? My 94 had hard starting issues-turned out to be leaking injectors but I ended up replacing the fuel pump and filter as well.

    Expedition build platform

That is good mileage-wish mine was that good. (to the OP) Land Rovers can be a curious beast, they are British so they have a different feel. It is hard to put your finger on what is different but when you drive one you can feel it, they are an emotional vehicle in that I mean you have to be...

    Expedition build platform

An FZJ80 doesn't get MPG in the 20's but I'm not sure if that was related or a goal for something you want. In general "expedition" or overland builds will not be high MPG vehicles unless you get something with a diesel. Those are rare in the USA and often command a price premium. A Discovery...

    '63 LR Series IIa

I would hate to know how much is tied up in that series. That one is very possibly over restored, I don't think they looked that clean from the factory!

    Cuba- Portrait of A People

Great work Trevor! As tired as the people there are and as eager as the expat here are, it surprises me there has not been a change in leadership by now. When that day comes and I feel it will be sooner than later, there is going to be a mess of property claims from the former owners of those...

    Project "Oscar" 5spd D1

I wonder if it will pull itself along in 4lo-locked and 1st gear on the trail? I guess we'll have to wait until the Uwharrie Safari to find out.

Looking into a Rover to swap in an Isuzu 4bd1t

If it's the turbo inline 5 3 liter than it would be the 300D's and 300SD's from the 70's, 80's until the early 90's I think.

Looking into a Rover to swap in an Isuzu 4bd1t

Obviously you'll want to find the cleanest LR you can-something like a DI or DII with a blown engine should be pretty inexpensive. How do you want to use it? That will help narrow the choices down.
